The daredevil star, Johnny Knoxville, known for his show Jackass, and for his stunts and pranks on screen, is a loving father of three off-screen. Following his marriage to costume designer Emily Ting, renewed interest surrounding his kids has surfaced.

The daredevil's real name is Phillip John Clapp, who has three children from his past marriages: Madison, Rocko, and Arlo. He has publicly discussed the difficulties and rewards of fatherhood throughout the years, acknowledging that being a father is the most fulfilling and terrifying role of his life.

Johnny Knoxville became a father for the first time in the year 1996, when Knoxville and his then-girlfriend, who later married him, Melanie Lynn Clapp, had their daughter Madison. He was in his mid-twenties and was still in the early stages of his career. Johnny Knoxville was worried and confused about having a child:

"When I was 24, and my first wife, she was then my girlfriend, said she was pregnant, we're going to have a baby. I don't think I've ever had that much fear in my life."

He added, saying that he knew it was "a great responsibility":

"I didn't have any money. I'm like, 'Well, I don't mind' ... All of my acting, I can forget about that.' How am I going to support this kid? The cycle of things that runs through your head when you get frightened over something"

But as soon as Johnny Knoxville held Madison for the first time, all doubts and fears disappeared:

"I was like, 'I think we got this.' And it was a wonderful feeling. Being a father is... I don't know if there's a greater thing, you know, it's a responsibility and it's hard, but it's great. I love being a parent."

Madison

Madison, who is now 29, has forged her own career. After graduating from Oberlin College, she stepped into entertainment like her father, but behind the scenes. According to LinkedIn, she is an Associate Producer, Production Supervisor, and Writer.

Additionally, Madison also had the opportunity to work with her father in the 2024 film, Sweet Dreams, where she helped Johnny Knoxville run lines and even filled in to read the emotional parts. She wrote about this on her Instagram, along with the photo of Papa Knox and director Lije Sarki:

“I was so happy to work with Dad ... I read for some of the daughter’s lines in a couple more emotional scenes (sorry again for the tears, Dad!)”

She loves spending time with her siblings and would also upload photos with them from time to time.

Rocko

On December 20, 2009, Johnny Knoxville and his second wife, Naomi Nelson, had their son, Rocko Akira Clapp. Rocko began to exhibit his father's spirit of adventure from a young age, and Knoxville has been cautious about letting Rocko watch Jackass:

“I said: ‘Yeah, Dad has a silly show where he does pranks and stunts, but it’s not really appropriate for you to see.’ Especially for him, because he’s wired like my father. He has that rambunctious spirit and I’m afraid that he would want to do it. And that’s just not going to be on the cards.”

Rocko is also a baseball player, pretty good at pitching the ball. Upon being asked how good his son was by Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2022, Knoxville agreed that Rocko was great, but he believed that his son would not be able to strike him out. When put to the test, Johnny Knoxville was struck out on the last throw. While being shocked, he said:

“That was legit. Good job buddy.”

Arlo

Two years after Rocko was born, Knoxville welcomed another child with Nelson on October 6, 2011 and named her Arlo. He took to Facebook to announce that they were expecting, he wrote:

“My 15-year-old daughter madison is very excited about it, and her 16-month-old little brother rocko has, well, no clue. Wahoo!!”

Arlo was named after folk musician Arlo Guthrie and is a lively and creative individual.

The actor posted pictures of himself with makeup that Arlo had applied for fun in 2024. Johnny Knoxville uploaded with the caption:

"Usually they make me take them out in public afterwards to get ice cream or something. But today they forgot to ask and I’m not reminding them.”

Like her elder brother, she is close to Madison. Both share a deep bond is always featured on her Instagram.

Both Rocko and Arlo can be seen on red carpets along with their father and his new wife, Emily Ting.

Johnny Knoxville might be the daredevil who does dangerous stunts, always pushing himself to the limits, but there is nothing more that he loves than being a parent. He told People in April 2024:

"I don't know if there's a greater thing. It's a responsibility and it's hard, but it's great. I love being a parent."
