How many children does Mindy Kaling have? Actress shares pictures from her trip to Hawaii

Mindy Kaling, who has three children, recently posted pictures of them on her Instagram while she was on vacation in Maui, Hawaii. According to People Magazine, the actress posted pictures of her children as they were staying at the luxurious Grand Waelia hotel, away on a quiet vacation.

Kaling first announced the birth of her first child, daughter Katherine Swati, in 2017. Later, she welcomed her second child, a son, Spencer Avu, in 2020. In 2024, she welcomed her third child, daughter Anne. In all of this, Kaling has never revealed the identity of any of her children's father.

Mindy Kaling, in her post shared on Monday, June 23, shared some sweet moments from her trip to Hawaii. In one of the pictures shared, she showed her two older children, Katherine Swati, 7, and Spencer Avu, 4, enjoying a bite of pizza as the Office actress lay back lazily while posing for the picture.

Kaling has been protective of her children's identity. Despite posting pictures of her children many times on Instagram, she has never posted pictures of their faces so as to help them maintain anonymity and lead a life away from the spotlight.

In the caption of the post, The Mindy Project actress wrote how she, despite being on vacation, was also working and had apparently written an episode for an unspecified TV show. She wrote:

"Four consecutive days of nonstop sunscreen application! Writing an episode of TV! I look happy and relaxed in paradise in these photos but it was total vigilance and hard work! 🫡 @grandwailea 🌺🌴🍍❤️😊"

In the other pictures shared by Mindy Kaling, she is seen wearing a floral dress while standing and gazing at the beautiful sunset in the backdrop. Additionally, she also shared a video of the beautiful scenery just outside her hotel room balcony, overlooking the ocean.

In August 2021, in an interview with People Magazine, Kaling talked about how she raised her children but acknowledged the innumerable people who helped her in doing so. She said:

"I wouldn't be able to keep my full-time professional career and have two children under the age of 3 without the incredibly strong relationship I have with my nanny. Also with my dad, who comes over to the house at least twice a day to take my son out for walks and to pick up my daughter and bring her home. My village is small and I wish it was bigger."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, recently, it was announced that Fawzia Mirza is set to direct the movie adaptation of the novel Hana Khan Carries On, which will be produced by Mindy Kaling.
