During his appearance as a guest on the June 11 episode of Billy Corgan’s The Magnificent Others podcast, singer Paul Stanley shared how raising his children in a way helped him heal from his own difficult childhood.

Paul Stanley, a 73-year-old American rock singer and frontman of the band KISS, is married to Erin Sutton and they share three children: son Colin, 18, and daughters Sarah, 16, and Emily, 13. He also has another son, 31-year-old Evan, with his ex-wife, Pamela Bowen.

According to People Magazine, while on The Magnificent Others podcast, Stanley reportedly shared that while he is content and happy with his family now, it took him some time to get there because of his childhood. He further talked about how, though his parents tried their best, they entered marriage and parenthood "ill-equipped."

Stanley shared that,

“My children are just a blessing. I think just speaking for yourself, you heal by raising children because you get to do right what you think was done wrong to you.”

Paul Stanley is a 73-year-old American musician. He was the frontman of the rock band KISS (1973-2023). Stanley was born to William Eisen and Eva Jontof-Hutter.

Paul Stanley was born on January 20, 1952, and was raised in Manhattan, New York City. He was born as the youngest of two children to William Eisen and Eva Jontof-Hutter. Stanley was born with a birth defect in his right ear called microtia, so he had hearing difficulty in his right ear, but he underwent surgery as an adult at the age of 30.

According to People Magazine, in KISS's 2005 biography, Stanley recalled growing up in a family that wasn't well-off and talked about having to live in a one-bedroom apartment. According to Ultimate Guitar, Stanley, in an interview with Lipps Service, reportedly shared that he was made fun of due to his birth defect and how his hearing difficulty made school difficult. In the interview, he also talked about his determination to pursue music despite the obstacles.

As per People Magazine, during the June 11 episode on the podcast, Stanley shared that he believed his parents did the best they could in raising him, but they entered marriage and parenthood "ill-equipped."

Paul Stanley said that,

“They came into the picture completely ill-equipped to be married and to be parents. That being said, they struggled, and that was my struggle — not having real guidance or a system that supported me or made me feel safe...I think they were in some ways consumed with their own unhappiness.”

Stanley's father passed away in 2021, at the age of 101, while his mother passed away in 2012 at the age of 88.
