Nick Cannon is opening up about the kind of man he'd want his daughters to date.

The comedian and The Masked Singer presenter, 44, who is also a father to 12 children with six different women, sat down for an interview with Extra's Mona Kosar Abdi, where he discussed his past dating habits.

Nick Cannon, who has five daughters, said that being a girl-dad has shifted his perspective on how he chooses to date now, noting that he hopes to inspire his daughters to "learn from my mistakes and not date people like their dad."

“When you have five daughters and you're like, ‘All right, I at least want to be able to be true and honest,’ but like I can't live the same life that I've always been living and attempt to right my wrongs in that sense of where like hopefully my daughters learn from my mistakes and not date people like their dad."

For the unversed, Nick Cannon shares twin sons, Moroccan and Monroe, with his ex-wife, Mariah Carey. He shares sons Golden Sagon and Rise Messiah Cannon, as well as a daughter named Powerful Queen, with Brittany Bell. With Abby De La Rosa, he shares twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin.

He also shares a son, Legendary Love, with Bre Tiesi and a daughter named Onyz Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole. Furthermore, he shared a son named Zen with Alyssa Scott, though he died at five months old in December 2021. They also share a daughter named Halo Marie Cannon.

As reported by Bang Showbiz, in his interview, Nick Cannon said that the future will have people looking for love from AI and robots:

“I think everybody's about to start dating robots. Between AI and the technology of making things we are definitely in the Total Recall/ Terminator-era where people are just sick of humans and they going to design the love that they want… I joke, but we are like right there.”

As for what love looks like to him, Nick Cannon said he "absolutely" believes in love at first sight, but isn't sure if it is the foundation for long-lasting relationships.

“It's chemical though… when your endorphins and someone else's energy kind of collide, I think you should act on it. I think you should dive deep into it. I don't know if love at first sight always equates to longevity. The best type of love is when it just naturally and gradually happens and that usually will have longevity because you didn't rush into anything. As they say, fools rush in.”

As reported by Blast, a recent interview saw Nick Cannon cop major flak online after he admitted to struggling to recall his children's names.

"I usually get in trouble," he said.

However, earlier this year, Nick Cannon said that he didn't think his family was complete just yet, and wanted to leave that part to God:

“God decides when we’re done, but I believe I definitely got my hands full," he said. He quipped, "When I'm 85, you never know. I might have [more]."

Around the same time, he told People Magazine that he's "pressing hold" on welcoming more offspring. While he said that he wasn't "against it," he wasn't too keen on welcoming some more anytime soon.

"I really don't know. I'm being honest. I'm having so much fun in this space right now, and the way my bank account is set up, I'm going to press hold on this 12 for right now," he told PEOPLE. "But. I was just speaking of three years from now [or] five years from now, who knows? I'm not against it." He added, "There was a point in time where I was just like, 'Nah, I'm done.' And, then I was like, 'Who am I to say that?' It seemed like it was such an emphatic thing. I never imagined that I would have 12 kids. So, it's one of those things where I love children. I love my life, and if it could keep going in the direction that it's going, why not?"

Nick Cannon also opened up to the outlet at ESSENCE Festival of Culture about his "nontraditional, unorthodox" family dynamics, noting that "there's nothing more important" to him than his kids:

"I love my kids unconditionally, and there's nothing more important than my children, so it's a learning lesson of love for me every single day," he told PEOPLE. "The number one thing is just to be present and to be able to say, 'Hey, I'm here, we're growing together.' " He added, "But also to put a different face on the fatherhood, too, because you see it in so many different ways now that you didn't see before. You can be present and you can have multiple relationships. We're getting so many different flavors of how fatherhood can look."
