Actress Anna Faris, known for her role in Scary Movie films, opened up about her motherhood journey with her 12-year-old son, Jack. In an exclusive interview with US Weekly on May 4, 2025, the actress was asked about her bond with Jack. She said:

“I am really proud that I will go on any roller coaster or like any, like water slide, or, you know, we have we did like, we have done so many like I have stepped out of my comfort zone because of my love for my son, so many times.”

Faris welcomed Jack in 2012 with Chris Pratt. The parents parted ways in 2017 and have since been co-parenting. Although Jack is her only biological child, she is also the stepmother to her husband Michael Barrett’s kids. Discussing her son, Anna Faris went on:

“I am really proud of that and I love it that he can count on me, you know. And I know that he sees that.”

In another segment of the interview, she was asked about bonding with her Spa Weekend co-stars. She shared that each of them had kids of different ages, and she felt lucky that her son Jack was able to join her in Australia while she worked.

She mentioned how tough it was to deal with the guilt of being away from one's child for work and how hard it could be to let oneself enjoy the moment. Anna Faris appreciated that everyone on set understood the challenges of balancing parenting with being in the public eye, where every part of your life, including how you parent, is constantly judged.

Anna Faris said Jack stayed supportive when they lost their house to the wildfires

Speaking to Hoda Kotb and Justin Sylvester in 2024, Anna Faris reflected on how quickly Jack grew up. She mentioned that looking at old photos sometimes made her miss those moments with her son, but she enjoyed the stage he was in.

However, one aspect that often frustrated her, like many parents, was when Jack asked where something was, like his backpack, even though it was right in front of him. She found it challenging to teach him to pay attention and find things by himself. When Justin Sylvester asked about her journey of being a stepmother, Anna Faris said:

“A teenage girl and a boy 20. She is 20 now. She is at Georgetown. I am really proud of her. And a 17-year-old boy who is totally excelling at school but when I first was entered into their lives, I had no idea how to relate to them so I remember trying to be really cool like blasting music regulator.”

Meanwhile, Anna Faris lost her house in the recent California wildfires. Speaking to US Weekly in March 2025, she shared that Jack dealt with the wildfire situation impressively well and stayed steady through everything.

She appreciated how grounded and sensible he was, especially for someone who grew up in Hollywood, and felt truly thankful for that.

She mentioned that Jack sometimes told her she was kind of funny. Faris expressed how much she loved having a son and felt their mother-son bond was special. Despite his occasional eye-rolls, he still acknowledged her humor, and she cherished the relationship they shared.
