Gypsy Rose Blanchard, the woman known for her role in the 2024 TV series, Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up, was a recent guest on Tori Spelling’s misSPELLING podcast. During the conversation, Rose upon various aspects of her life and how she dealt with her motherhood journey.

For the unversed, Rose was convicted of murdering her mother after being abused by her for many years. The Reality TV star has one kid, whom she welcomed earlier this year with partner Ken Urker. Their daughter is named Aurora. When Spelling inquired if she would have more kids, Rose said:

“I do, I do. But we will have to use IVF for our next one because the one medical condition that I actually do have, it's called microdeletion 1Q21.1. So it's just a long word for I'm missing a small piece in each of my first chromosomes.”

Gypsy Rose Blanchard explained that the condition she carried had a fifty percent chance of being passed on to each of her children. Fortunately, her daughter Aurora tested negative for it. To prevent passing it on in the future, she and her partner decided to use IVF for their next child.

She also said:

“We do want a boy. One boy and one girl. Probably just two. I say that now. You never know what the future holds, but just two for now on the horizon.”

Per People Magazine, Gypsy Rose Blanchard said she felt relief after finding out her daughter didn’t inherit her condition. However, her daughter’s negative result meant the condition would not affect her or future generations.

What did Gypsy Rose Blanchard say about her mother and father?

On June 9, 2025, Rose shared an Instagram post, reflecting on how June 10 held different meanings for her. It was the day she first saw her daughter Aurora on a sonogram, which changed her life.

At the same time, the date also marked ten years since her mother died, whom she remembered more for the abuse she caused than for love. Blanchard said that pain had a lasting impact on her life, influencing the decisions she made. Gypsy Rose Blanchard wrote:

“I won’t pretend she was a good person. And I won’t pretend I’ve been perfect either. But Aurora… she represents a new beginning. A chance to break every cycle. A chance to raise someone with love, truth, and freedom. A chance to give her a life better than what I had and better than my past choices.”

Gypsy Rose Blanchard shared that although she carried the weight of her past, her daughter represented her future. She hoped her child would grow up to be someone even better than she had been, and better than the women who came before her.

She also shared a heartfelt post on Father’s Day, writing how she didn’t have the chance to experience the typical father-daughter bond growing up due to circumstances that kept them apart.

For a long time, she wondered what it would be like to feel a father’s love and support. However, with a daughter of her own, Gypsy Rose Blanchard said she was able to witness her father being the grandfather he was always meant to be.
