Josie Bates and husband Kelton Balka have expanded their family by one more! The Bringing Up Bates alum, 26, took to Instagram this week to announce the birth of her newborn. "Our sweet baby is here 🥹🫶🏻," she wrote in the caption, followed by several hashtags including #familyof6 and #laboranddelivery. The pair announced their pregnancy in April on Instagram, People Magazine has reported. At the time, the family sported all-white ensembles as they sauntered together in the garden, holding hands. Josie and Kelton share daughters, Hazel, 4, and Willow, 6, and son Miles, 21 months. At the time, they opted for an outdoor ceremony that overlooked the mountain ranges of Tennessee. They announced that they were expecting their first child a few months later, eventually welcoming her in July 2019. Two years later, they welcomed their daughter Hazel, and by February 2024, they were a family of five when they welcomed their son. At the time, Josie took to Instagram to share a string of photos of her son's first few moments earthside with the caption: "Meet the newest love of our lives 🫶." She also shared a video of her birth journey, writing, "We waited 9 months for the surprise of our lives" as she learned at that moment that she had given birth to their first baby boy. Speaking with Today.com, she opened up about sharing her poems in the online space, which can oftentimes be cruel: "The one thing that I worry about the most is the people that I know thinking that it’s not cool," she said. "I feel like at first, I was a little bit more sensitive to any negativity, which there honestly hasn’t been a ton of, which is really nice because I know on the internet when I post other kinds of content, there can be. But usually with poems, it’s pretty positive. Anybody who’s being mean on the internet, I would never admire those people, so I find that I can’t be scared of them either."
