Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry and singer-songwriter Van Hunt, in a recent interview, opened up to Today about their relationship. The romantic couple who went public with their relationship in 2020, in a candid conversation, discussed where the two currently stand in terms of their relationship. After dating Halle Berry for over four years, Hunt, during the interview, revealed that he had already proposed to her.

Halle Berry, who is the first African-American woman to win an Academy Award in the Best Actress category for her performance in Marc Foster's romantic thriller, Monster's Ball, has been married thrice. The 58-year-old actress, besides being married three times, also had a few romantic indulgences.

Before we get into Halle Berry's romantic relationships, let's take a look at her previous marriages. The Catwoman star's first marriage was with Atlanta Braves baseball player David Justice. They dated for a year before they tied the knot in 1993. After staying married for three years, the couple split in 1996, with their divorce being finalized by June 1997.

The Die Another Day actress, after her divorce from David Justice, came across singer Eric Benet in 1999. The two, who had been dating for a while, got hitched in January 2001. Halle Berry and Benet split for a bunch of reasons, the most important reason being his tendency to cheat on her with other women. Benet's infidelity was the primary reason behind their split in 2003. Berry's third marriage was with Olivier Martinez, a French actor whom she met during the production of Dark Tide in 2010. Halle got engaged to Olivier in 2012 and tied the knot the next year in 2013. She shares a son, Maceo, with him. Both of them filed for divorce in 2015.

Van Hunt revealed he had already proposed to Halle Berry

The 55-year-old singer-songwriter and record producer, Hunt, during his and Berry's interview with Today, revealed that he has already proposed to the Oscar-winning actress and is awaiting an answer. Hunt said:

"So I put out the proposal, and it’s still on hold as you can see. It’s just out there floating. You know, maybe you can encourage her."

To which Halle Berry responded:

"Well, I’ve been married three times. Van has been married once, and so no, we don’t feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way. We don't."

She further added:

"But I think we will get married just because, out of the people I’ve been married to, this is the person I should have married. And I feel like I should, we should get married, but it’s not because we feel like we have to. I think it’s something that we would like to do just because we want that expression."
