Jordan Carter, whose stage name is Playboi Carti, is in legal hot water again after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and limousine driver while on tour. The incident happened on October 2, 2025, in Park City, Utah, when he was being taken from the Waldorf Astoria to a rehearsal location for his Antagonist Tour.
The incident started when Playboi Carti and his girlfriend got into a heated altercation in the backseat of a limousine, allegedly over a sexual disagreement, according to police reports that TMZ obtained. The limousine's driver, Carl Reynolds, claimed that Carti had threatened to attack both him and his girlfriend when he attempted to step in.
Reynolds told the police that after Carti struck his girlfriend in the chest, he pulled over and asked the rapper's security chief to take Carti out of the car. However, Reynolds ended up with a bruised and swollen jaw when Carti abruptly swung at him before security stepped in to separate them.
After being dispatched to the scene, the Wasatch County police stated that the matter is under investigation, and pictures were taken of Reynold's injuries. Reynolds, who drives for ALC Limousine Connection, claims that another driver from the company witnessed the incident.
Reynolds stated that he will be taking legal actions and will hire counsel, but stated that his top priority is for Carti to avoid hurting anybody else, especially his girlfriend.
Playboi Carti's criminal history

This isn't the rapper's first brush with legal officials. Over the years, the 30-year-old rapper has been arrested several times for multiple offences, which include assault, weapon and drug charges.
His first run-in with the law was back in 2017, when Carti was arrested for domestic battery charges following a reported altercation. A year later, in 2018, he was found guilty in court of punching a driver during a concert tour in Gretna, Scotland, and he was fined £800.
Then, in April 2020, Playboi Carti was taken into custody for gun and drug possession in Clayton County, Georgia. When police stopped his Lamborghini for expired plates, they found 12 packages of marijuana, three firearms, Xanax, codeine, and oxycodone. Actor Jaylan Tucker, who was 21 years old, was also present with him.
According to court documents, Carti was charged with possession of marijuana, failing to have a current decal on his license plate, and inappropriately passing an emergency vehicle. The rapper was freed on bail the next morning.
The rapper was arrested once more in September 2022 for careless driving; the video was made public in January 2024. In December 2022, Playboi Carti reportedly choked his pregnant girlfriend after a dispute over a paternity test, leading to his arrest in Georgia for felony aggravated assault in February 2023.
Before fleeing with a witness's assistance, the 14-week pregnant woman told police she was afraid for her life. According to her, Carti had attempted to yank her out of the car and prevent her from reporting the incident to the police by using the car's SOS function. Carti, again, was released a day later on bail.
Playboi Carti's legal issues and erratic conduct have attracted a lot of public attention and criticism from fans and his ex-partner, Iggy Azalea, as well. Iggy and Carti share a kid together, named Onyx. Carti has been accused of cheating and being absent. The duo separated in October of 2020, a few months after Onyx was born.
Iggy had tweeted about his felony aggravated assault :
"Imagine having a pregnant girlfriend and pretending they don’t exist until it comes out you like to abuse them too - & rarely visiting your actual son unless is because you’re running from whatever problems ya got going on in Atlanta & the press with your serial abuse of woman."
She posted another tweet after that:
"Anyway. I’m having an actually amazing day! karmas real! Treat the people you love well! Happy Valentine’s Day."
As of now, Playboi Carti could face misdemeanor assault charges under Utah law. Class A misdemeanours have a maximum sentence of 364 days in prison and a $2,500 fine, while Class B would carry six months in prison or a fine of $1000, whereas Class C misdemeanours carry a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail and a $750 fine.
