In his colourful and multi-generational career as a singer, Rod has been married three times. He first tied the knot with Alana in 1979, with whom he shares two children, Kimberly and Sean. The duo reportedly split up in 1984 after Rod filed for a divorce. Looking back at his relationship with Alana, Rod told People in an interview,
"When I told my dad I was getting married, he said, 'You're far too young. He was right. I still had a lot of living, partying, drinking and sh**ing to do."
According to The Mirror, he married Rachel Hunter, despite their 26-year age gap, in 1991, before the latter stepped away from the marriage in 1999. The singer recently opened up about his "split" from Rachel Hunter, describing that he was torn to "shreds", per People Magazine. After a whirlwind of romances, the singer married his current wife, Penny Lancaster.

Rod Stewart's wife, Alana, recently shared a health update on her social media on October 7, 2025. The former model revealed she had been getting treated in "Santa Monica." She added that she had been struggling with a "stubborn lung infection" and had to undergo various medical procedures. She elaborated that she is receiving "IV antibiotics" for "two weeks." She added in the caption,
"I have to admit I was terrified of IV antibiotics because I have allergies to so many medications but so far so good. Being here isn’t the worst thing in the world…getting waited on and not having to do errands and deal with every day life. I’m grateful to the doctors and nurses here who have all been so nice and I’m hoping for a speedy recovery."
Alana gave her fans and well-wishers a view of the "meditation garden" and revealed her hopes for recovery. She added that she will update her fans about her physical health.
