Rapper Rod Wave was arrested on May 20 on felony charges tied to an incident from April 21, according to an AllHipHop report.

Several outlets have published that, as per Fulton County Jail reports circulating online, the rapper was arrested briefly in Atlanta on May 20. The reports remain unverified, though they state that Rod Wave, legally known as Rodarius Marcell Green, was hit with various charges.

Notably, this isn't the artist's first run-in with the law. Over the years, he has been hit with a plethora of charges, including a dismissed battery charge in 2022 and another in 2024 related to firearms, which was also dismissed. At the time, his legal counsel contended that he was wrongly mistaken as a convicted felon.

They said at the time that there was “absolutely no evidence of wrongdoing,” per All Hip Hop.

Earlier this year, the rapper made headlines once again when he was engaged in a spat involving Mini Barbie and his former girlfriend-cum-mother of his twin girls, Dee. At the time, another woman named Zaria also came forth, claiming she had just given birth to his daughter.

The rapper refuted the claims, accusing her of trying to extort him. He took to social media to back these up with receipts of him sending her $5,000, and he also claimed that she tried to get $35,000 for an abortion or an investment in her business, All Hip Hop has reported.

Nonetheless, the rapper eventually conceded to philandering, as he later took to Instagram to pen an apology to his beau:

“I’m so sorry. Ain’t even go through with it. I ruined everything. Embarrassing you, hurting you and you was there for me. I’m so sorry I hurt you. These people so wrong about me. I’m sorry you the purest person I ever known, and you don’t deserve that. I had it in my hand, but I ain’t shoot.” He ended the post with: “Y’all I f***ed up bad.”

Rod Wave's legal team has yet to issue a statement as well, while court dates have yet to be determined.
