So So Def Recordings founder Jermaine Dupri says he spent $10K every week at Magic City for over 20 years.

Jermaine Dupri sat down for a guest appearance on the July 10 episode of Joe and Jada, where he opened up about shelling out potentially thousands of dollars at the Atlanta strip club. The artist, who is currently promoting his Starz docuseries, Magic City: An American Fantasy, named his favorite Magic City dancer, Whyte Chocolate, before adding:

“I used to throw the money up to the ceiling and let it shower the girls. So, what other people are doing now, I used to do it specifically just to hit the ceiling because then the money would just splatter everywhere.”

He added:

“I threw up a thousand dollars; the ceiling would make it fly all over the room. The money would stick to the ceiling, and the girls would stand with their feet on the couch and get their money back. I started that.”

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the rapper-cum-record producer boasts a net worth of $2.5 million. His work features collaborations with celebrated artists like Kris Kross, Jay-Z, Da Brat, Mariah Carey, and more. Per the outlet, in his heyday, his personal fortune skyrocketed to an estimated $60 million, though several lawsuits and foreclosures later, his fortune has dwindled.

Here's everything we know about Jermaine Dupri's forthcoming docuseries

As reported by Hot 97, just last month, Jermaine Dupri dropped the trailer of his five-part docuseries at the American Black Film Festival, which took place in Atlanta. Per the outlet, the docuseries

"delves into the storied history of Magic City, a legendary strip club in Atlanta, and its immense influence on hip-hop culture, sports, and Black culture over nearly 40 years.”

2 Chainz, Nelly, Shaquille O’Neal, Quavo, Killer Mike, and Big Boi all make appearances in the project, which comes out on August 15. Kathryn Busby, president of original programming at Starz, has reportedly said in a statement:

Magic City: An American Fantasy is a riveting behind-the-curtain look at one of the most unique places in Black culture. The docuseries’ unprecedented insider access and history unveiled from those who built its empire is a perfect complement to Starz’s slate of adult, culture-driving shows.”

As reported by Variety, the film, which was originally supposed to be a three-part series, chronicles the tale of founder Michael “Mr. Magic” Barney and the dancers of the club that has been active for over four decades. Its logline states:

The documentary follows Barney from the “opening a small strip club in Atlanta” to what has now become “the most famous strip club in Atlanta, and soon, the world.”

Jermaine Dupri spoke to VIBE this year at the BET Awards, when he told fans what they could expect from the forthcoming documentary:

“It started as a soundtrack, and then as I started making the records, I’m like yo, this really a Jermaine Dupri album with a whole bunch of artists that I’ve never worked with, and I also started saying I’m going to put artists from Atlanta on this… So, it’s me making records with artists I never worked with, that’s from the same city that I’m from. That’s exciting to me.”

The first single from Jermaine Dupri's album dropped recently, titled, “Turn Around,” and it featured T.I., Young Dro, and 2 Chainz.
