Former basketball player Lamar Odom seems to have found himself in financial trouble. According to an exclusive report by The New York Post from May 29, 2025, his landlord has asked him to vacate his Los Angeles apartment after he failed to pay his rent amounting to $45K.
He was sued by the sublessor of the apartment, who alleged that the player had agreed on a verbal agreement around December 2024 to pay the rent for the property. The monthly rent was $15K, and it was to be cleared by the first of the month.
Per Celebrity Net Worth, Odom possesses a net worth of $30 million, with a salary of $8.2 million. As per the report, Lamar Odom was unsuccessful in paying rent for three consecutive months, from January to March 2025. He was even served a notice to clear the dues within three days. The notice mentioned:
“If you fail to perform or otherwise comply, Landlord declares the forfeiture of the lease or rental agreement under which you occupy said premises.”
The lawsuit stated that when the notice to pay rent or leave was given, Lamar Odom reportedly owed $45,000 in rent. It also claimed that the property was worth $500 on a daily basis. Executive Recovery Group, Inc. added that it chose to end the lease with Odom on March 17, 2025.
As per the instructions of the court, the sublessor took back the apartment and asked Odom to leave the place.
Lamar Odom appeared in one of the episodes of The Kardashians
Odom was previously married to Khloe Kardashian, but they parted ways in 2016. However, he recently appeared on an episode of The Kardashians this year. During the episode, he confronts Odom about the reasons why their marriage split. She previously told Entertainment Tonight:
“Obviously I have gone through everything I have gone through to be able to endure what I have but I definitely know that this has made me stronger.”
Lamar Odom had accidentally overdosed in 2015, which allegedly left him in a coma. In the episode with Khloe, he said:
“I didn't even take cocaine to the club.”
Despite their divorce, Khloe was by his side during the health emergency. Khloe Kardashian shared that Lamar Odom had been getting better each day, which she considered a blessing. During their conversation in the episode, she asked if he ever thought about why they completely stopped talking.
Lamar admitted he often thought about it and believed it was because he used drugs afterward. Khloe brought up how he had been aware enough to use a secret phone to contact a dealer, send away security, and hide what he was doing, until she found out and reacted by punching him and breaking things in their home. In 2022, he told Entertainment Tonight:
“Anytime a woman stands by you after you know making such a huge mistake I don't think you could ever you know forget about that person.”
Towards the end of the episode, the two hugged each other, and Lamar Odom said he felt light after speaking candidly with Khloe.
