The Bristol Night Race turned into a moment of release for Christopher Bell. The Oklahoma native, now 30, had been chasing a win for months before finally breaking through with his fourth victory of the year. It also happened to be the 13th of his Cup career, all behind the wheel of Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 20 Toyota.

But the finish carried heavier meaning. On September 14, the Daily Mail reported that Christopher Bell dedicated the triumph to Charlie Kirk, who had been assassinated days earlier. From fourth on the restart, Bell surged to the front and controlled the last four laps, ending a 24-race skid. When the night ended, his words said it all:

“It wasn’t pretty there at the end, but we got her done. This week has obviously been a very tough week and there’s a lot on our mind. This one’s for Charlie.”

Since 2020, he has been married to Morgan Bell, with the couple even starring together in Netflix’s Full Speed.

They first crossed paths as teenagers back in 2010. Morgan grew up around racing too, but it wasn’t until 2014 that they started dating. Christopher Bell proposed four years later, and by 2020 they were husband and wife. Mooresville, N.C., became their home base, where they shared two dogs, Sadie and Bailey, who frequently popped up in Morgan’s Instagram posts.

Racing runs deep in Morgan’s family. She co-owned Bell Kemenah Racing with her father, Brian, who had built a reputation as one of Sprint Car racing’s most reliable mechanics and crew chiefs. Her uncle Chad was also a well-known name on the All Star and World of Outlaws circuits, with Brian playing a central role in much of that success.

Her Instagram presence reflected both her personal and professional life. She has often marked National Dog Day with tributes to Sadie. One 2020 post read:

“Happy National Dog Day to my favorite little fur ball. She is the cuddliest and most needy little girl and I wouldn’t trade her for anything.”

In April 2025, Morgan opened up further in an interview with the Believe in the Good podcast, hinting at their hopes for a family.

“We definitely do want kids, it’s just a matter of when, I guess. And we haven’t quite figured out that timing yet,” she shared.

Christopher Bell holds off Brad Keselowski in dramatic finish to win Bristol night race

Christopher Bell secured his place in the second round of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs after pulling off a late move at Bristol, according to American Cars And Racing. In a race marked by tire struggles and shifting strategies, Christopher Bell only led 12 of the 500 laps but made the final one count, edging Brad Keselowski after a dramatic bump on the closing turn.

NASCAR added an extra set of tires mid-race as teams dealt with unexpected fall-off, and Christopher Bell used his fresh right-side set to hold off Keselowski, who had four new tires in the final stretch. Coming into Turn Three on the last lap, Keselowski tried a bump-and-run with a heavy shot to Bell’s rear bumper, but Bell managed to stay out front.

Speaking afterward, Bell admitted the final laps were far from flawless.

“To be honest, I expected it. He ran me down from however long it was, three car lengths, four car lengths. Those last three laps, they were not my prettiest three laps I’ve run in my career, but it was good enough to get to the checkered flag first,” he shared.

Bell added that he anticipated Keselowski’s aggression.

“I knew he was going to be really aggressive, really hungry. I knew his team had a bummer start to the year, but they’ve been performing well and been on the brink of Victory Lane and they were again tonight, so I knew he was going to throw everything at it,” he explained.

Although both cars moved high through Turn Four after contact, Bell held the line and avoided a spin.

“I think I backed my corner up a little bit just trying to stay under the tires a little bit more. Those last three laps I got the lead and then we were on right sides, and I guess I just had less grip than I was anticipating and I could not get my car to stick around the bottom,” he explained.
“I tried to stay under the tires and give me a little bit more room so whenever he hit me I could not spin out and crash, so yeah, it worked out,” he added.

Investigators are still searching for answers after Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University. A memorial is being planned by his family for next week. The suspect, Tyler James Robinson, of Washington, Utah, was booked on suspicion of aggravated murder and multiple felonies. Formal charges were expected early next week ahead of his first court appearance. Authorities also confirmed they had served a search warrant at Robinson’s family home in Washington, nearly 240 miles from the campus, and spoken with several of his relatives.
