Dyan Cannon, the Hollywood legend, made headlines when she was denied entry into the White House while on a tour with her friends. The 88-year-old actress, who has starred in Heaven Can Wait and Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, disclosed that the incident was caused by an age discrepancy on her passport, which resulted in a false statement she made about her age.
In a social media video, Cannon, who was joined by her friends Christine Avanti-Fischer, Kym Douglas, and Tracey Bregman, captured the amusing experience. The group that co-hosts the podcast, God's Table, had intended to take a tour of the White House when the Secret Service stopped them at a checkpoint.
Douglas, who was filming the video, said:
“We are lined up for a great tour, and we have these Secret Service guys and all of the federal agents. We can’t get in because someone lied about their age.”
Then Dyan Cannon went on to explain as she started laughing:
“Listen. Years ago, here’s the thing, I lied about my age on my passport.”
Douglas then joked:
“Who doesn’t, Dyan?”
Then Avanti-Fischer added to this:
“If we get in, it’s going to be a miracle of God.”
Dyan Cannon then said:
“It’s nobody’s business what the number is they’ve pinned on me ….right girls? Right guys? it’s just a blinkin number… no matter what number they put next to me there’s one thing that never changes …I WUV WU”
Cannon then reposted the video on her Instagram with the caption:
"And I'd do it again... it's nobody's business what the number is they've pinned on me ....right girls? Right guys? it's just a blinkin number... no matter what number they put next to me there's one thing that never changes ... WUV WU!!. Ps those securitvguards were so handsome!!!
Bregman commented on the post, writing:
“Hilarious. Love you so but seriously, how can I change my age.”
