Actor Matt Dillon, widely recognized for his standout roles in There’s Something About Mary and Traffic, has long been admired for his striking good looks. On September 10, while walking the red carpet for his upcoming film The Fence at the Toronto International Film Festival, he shared some insights when asked about how he maintains his youthful glow.

During the interaction in question, a reporter asked the now 61-year-old actor,

“There’s a video that’s going viral online right now where everyone’s saying you have not aged a day. What is the secret to the fountain of youth for you?”

The video mentioned by the reporter was a TikTok reaction video in response to Dillon’s recent Criterion Closet interview. Matt Dillon, unaware of the online chatter, responded as follows,

“Really? Well, I don’t know what to say about that.It doesn’t feel that way always.”

The actor continued,

“I think the thing is just keep your spirit young. Enjoy life, make sure you get plenty of exercise.”

Lastly, Matt Dillon had the following advice to cap off his answer,

“Don’t get too worried about stuff all the time, which is not, not easy."

Fellow Wild Things star Kevin Bacon recently mentioned Matt Dillon while discussing his most notable career highlights on Esquire’s ‘For the Record’ video series. He recalled that the two actors were intended to have a steamy scene that involved their characters actually sharing a kiss.

“In the original script, we start making out. Part of what was crazy about the movie was that there were all these twists, you know, that was like the hook of the movie, so to me, (the kiss) was a great twist. That’s all. I was like, ‘That’d be an awesome twist’”.

Bacon, for his part, did not exactly recall whether the scene was removed from the final cut or never shot at all.

“But I don't know. For some reason, it got cut. We didn’t shoot it. I don't think we shot it. I think it just got cut.”

Matt Dillon's upcoming The Fence is the latest film directed by French visionary Claire Denis. The feature has been described by The Wrap as "a dialogue-heavy film that is largely confined to a single location, a construction site in Africa where a death has occurred."

As the film is currently on the festival circuit, no firm release date has been confirmed as yet.
