Hannah Montana star Mitchel Musso is denying fellow star Miley Cyrus’ claims that he smoked p*t on the set of the hit Disney Channel show. Musso, who appeared as Oliver Oken in the teen show, was 15 years old when Hannah Montana began airing in 2006. By the time the show ended in 2011, Oken was 20 years old.
Musso also appeared in the 2009 film from the franchise, Hannah Montana: The Movie.
Sharing his own version of events, Musso spoke to E! News recently and said,
“Well, that’s not how I remember it.”
Musso also shared that there was no dearth of candid anecdotes from the filming of the sitcom. He added,
“However, I’ve got plenty of stories from those years that might be worth having a conversation about. If we’re revisiting Hannah Montana history—just say the word.”

Even as he contested Cyrus’ claims, Musso had a positive message for his former co-star. He said,
“All love to Miley and the fam, even when the rewrites get this creative.”
What did Miley Cyrus claim about Mitchel Musso?
While appearing on her mother Tish Cyrus and sister Brandi Cyrus’ podcast, Sorry We're Cyrus, on June 19, Miley Cyrus was asked about one of her ‘core memories’ from when Hannah Montana was being filmed. Tish asked,
"What's a core memory from the Hannah Montana days that still makes you laugh?”
Cyrus initially implicated her father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, who also played her onscreen father, and said,
"Dad smoking p*t and everyone blaming me for it…it's hilarious”
Tish went on to share that she remembered the incident and was surprised by the claims against her then-husband. She said,
“And they were calling me saying B Ray was smoking p*t and I was saying, 'Absolutely not, he would never do that’."
According to Tish, the blame rested with Musso. She claimed,
“It's Mitchel Musso.”

While Miley agreed with her mother, she claimed that it was both Billy Ray and Musso who smoked p*t while filming. She alleged,
“Well it was Mitchel. It was Mitchel Musso, it was Mitchel Musso. It was both.”
Mitchel Musso was arrested in a DUI case
Back in 2011, around the time Hannah Montana ended, Musso was arrested when he was found driving after having consumed alcohol in Los Angeles. At the time, TMZ reported that Musso did not follow the police’s directions, who were diverting traffic. As a result, the young star was pulled over but was found to have a “strong odor of alcohol”.
The news outlet also reported that Musso failed his breathalyzer test, and the alcohol in his system was over the 0.08 limit. Taken in custody for a few hours, Musso was released after his bail was set at $5,000.
In 2012, E! News reported that the actor shared a statement to the public to accept responsibility for the incident. He said,
“In becoming an adult, I have learned first hand that stepping up and taking responsibility is the best way to move forward. I am especially thankful to my family and fans for their unwavering support and encouragement. I am glad to now put this in the past.”
According to E! News, Musso pleaded no contest and was asked to follow 3 years of informal probation.
