Tommy Fleetwood, aged 34, recently won his first PGA title at the Tour Championship on August 24. He is married to Clare Fleetwood, who is 57 years old.

He claimed his eighth career title by winning the FedEx Cup and was supported by his stepson from his marriage to Clare. Clare Fleetwood, in her appearance on the Performance People podcast, had previously opened up about her relationship with the golfer and how she initially rejected his advances because of their 23-year age difference.

Tommy Fleetwood's victory on Sunday came just two months after his loss at the Travelers Championship, where Keegan Bradley won the title. After his win over Patrick Cantlay, Fleetwood issued a statement saying:

"I'm just so happy I got it done. I'm proud of what I've done before. Whether I've won or not [before], I've still been proud of my career and where I've been so far, knowing that I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn. This doesn't change that, really. This is just, hopefully, one win — the first of many to come.You can't win plenty if you don't win the first one. I'm just so happy that I got it done. Happy with my work ethic. I'll continue to try and get better, try to be the best I can be."

Clare Fleetwood, who appeared on the Performance People podcast hosted by Georgie and Ben Ainslie in 2023, revealed how she was skeptical about starting a relationship with Tommy Fleetwood. Clare was forty-seven years old when she met Tommy Fleetwood, who was twenty-four at the time. She said :

"Of course, I turned him down. I was like, 'Don't be stupid.' It kind of is and isn’t. I mean it was way more at the beginning. It was kind of not actually for us but it was just again thinking what other people are thinking about all the time and within the industry.”

She further added:

“It was kind of big news in our circle so I was a little bit paranoid about all that really. But not for any reason of our relationship and I had full faith once we fell in love.”

According to People Magazine, Clare Fleetwood, who previously worked as the Vice President at Hambric Sport Management, met Tommy Fleetwood in 2015 through his brother, who also worked at the company. Clare was appointed as his manager, but their relationship soon turned romantic.

The couple, who share a twenty-three-year age difference, secretly dated for two years before making their relationship public in 2017 with the announcement of their engagement. Clare Fleetwood, who is often seen supporting Tommy Fleetwood at his matches, married him in the Bahamas in December of the same year.

In her appearance on the Performance People podcast, she also spoke about how she helps him manage his career, saying:

"The thing that he's got on his side [is that] a lot of golfers and everybody loves him no matter what he does. He's so popular, honestly, he cannot do a thing wrong which is the more annoying for me.”

Clare Fleetwood further added:

"I know everything on every side – so there's sponsorship side, the logistics side, the PR side, the accounts side, everything. Maybe sometimes too much, you know, because then that's all I think about sometimes, but that's just the different dynamic."

In the podcast, Clare Fleetwood also explained how she helps him manage his time with his family, adding that they turned down major deals because of it. She said:

"I just know his time is more important at home than the bank account. I don’t care about the bank account either, so I’m on his wavelength.”

Tommy, who had also appeared on the Performance People podcast alongside Clare Fleetwood, shared his perspective on her role in his life and career. He said:

"That calming side, that reality check ... that happiness side of things and she’s very clever. She judges situations better than you do when you’re playing all the time and you’re so single-minded on what you do and that you don’t look outside the box."
