Rob Reiner was found dead in his LA home on December 14. The American film director’s death garnered condolences from several Hollywood celebrities as well as political figures. Among tributes, many even shared controversial remarks on Rob Reiner’s death, seemingly influenced by his political beliefs.President Donald Trump posted a scandalous condolence message for Rob. After this, his followers left similar comments for the dead, who had allegedly criticized President Trump in the past.James Woods, a veteran actor and avid supporter of Trump, has spoken out against the "distasteful" statements made about Rob Reiner. He said:“When people say horrible things about Rob right now, I find it, quite frankly, infuriating and distasteful. Did I agree with his politics? I did not. Did I love him as I friend, as an artist, as an icon of Hollywood, and as a patriot? I most certainly did, and I am just absolutely devastated.”James Woods went on to explain how Rob supported him and saved his career. He gave the credit for his success to Rob:“Rob literally saved my career and really put me back on track in a way that was so important and rewarding in my life. He really fought for me when a studio didn’t want me in a movie, I went from really being basically out of a job to getting an Academy Award nomination, and I give all the credit to Rob.”James Woods pointed out that he and Rob Reiner have different political viewsJames Woods continued to talk about the differences in his and Rob’s political beliefs. Woods said:“I judge people by how they treat me, and Rob Reiner was a Godsend in my life. We got along great, we loved each other… He was always on my side,” Woods said. “When people would say to me, ‘What do you think of his politics?’ I would say, ‘I think Rob Reiner is a great patriot. Do I agree on many of his ideas on how that patriotism should be enacted, to celebrate the America that we both love? No. He doesn’t agree with me either, but he also respects my patriotism. We had a different path to the same destination, which was a country we both love.”James Woods said that disagreement with someone doesn’t mean you should hate them. On December 15, President Trump shared a message for Rob Reiner on Truth Social, saying that the director suffered from ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’:"A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS."He continued:"He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!"For those unaware, Rob and his wife, Michele Singer, were found dead in their LA home due to stab wounds.
