Iron Lung is an adaptation of David Szymanski's namesake 2022 video game. The film will be released in a limited number of screens on January 30, 2026. It will be screened in around 50–100 independent cinema halls across the United States. As far as the streaming release is concerned, the makers haven't announced any. We will have to wait for its theatrical release before the film gets picked up by any streaming platform.

Iron Lung is produced by Mark Fischbach, Will Hyde, and Jeff Guerrero under the production banner of Markiplier Studios. Fischbach is also starring in the lead role, along with Caroline Rose Kaplan, Seán McLoughlin, David Szymanski, Elle LaMont, Troy Baker, and Elsie Lovelock. It's shot by Philip Roy, while Fischbach and Marc Schneider are the editors. Andrew Hulshult is the film's composer.

The film will have its premiere in Los Angeles at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Downtown this Friday. In April 2023, the YouTuber announced that the film's shooting had finished. It has taken him nearly two years to finish its post-production. He shared a statement with Variety about the film.

"They said it shouldn’t be done. Not that it couldn’t be done, people have made movies before, just that it would be ‘woefully unwise’ to tackle writing, directing, acting and editing a movie myself. Showed them. My bathroom might be a render farm now but I can’t wait for people to see the blood, sweat, blood, tears, blood and blood that went into this movie from everyone involved.”

He continued,

"[the film holds a world record] for most blood in a horror movie or any movie for that matter.”

Iron Lung to hit the theaters this January.
