Hulk Hogan’s reality TV show Hogan Knows Best gave fans a look into his personal life.

But behind the scenes, things sometimes got confusing. According to a former producer, Hogan was so close to the crew that he would forget he was being filmed.

Producer Matt Williams recently shared that Hogan once stopped a marriage counseling session to ask if it was real or just for the cameras. He told TMZ,

"Hulk was so ride‑or‑die for the OG Hogan Knows Best crew, he’d sometimes forget where reality ended and reality TV began."

He went on,

"He literally paused mid-session to ask if it was real life or just for the show."

The incident happened during a rough time in Hogan’s marriage to his then-wife Linda. As producers filmed a counseling session, Hogan paused the conversation and asked if it was for real or just part of the show.

Matt Williams said Hogan treated the crew like family. He even knew the names of every production assistant. According to Williams, this close bond may have made it hard for Hogan to remember when he was on or off camera.

He wasn’t acting for the show. Williams said Hogan was just being himself most of the time. This made it hard to tell when he was performing and when he was just living his life.

Williams also shared that Hogan always showed up and gave time to everyone. He was not the kind of person who kept his distance. He made the crew feel like they were part of his life, not just his show.

In addition to the counseling story, Williams talked about Hogan’s role as a father. He shared memories that showed a more caring and involved side of the wrestling star.

One clip featured by TMZ shows Williams talking about Hogan’s relationship with his daughter, Brooke. He said Hogan was proud of her and supported her work after the show ended.

Brooke Hogan had recently asked to be removed from her father’s will. Williams did not comment on that directly, but said Brooke has worked hard and kept moving forward since the show.
