Eva Amurri is opening up about going under the knife for a breast reduction surgery.
The actress, 40, took to Instagram to share a reel of herself before and after the procedure while sporting a bralette. The first clip was taken with the same garment six months before and post-op. In her caption, she thanked her surgeon, Dr. Umbareen Mahmood, MD.
"6 Months Post Reduction, and I had to finish this Reel! 🤪 My back hurts looking at the first clip 🙃🫠," she wrote, revealing that she has since gone from a 32F/G to a 32C. "Recovery wasn’t nearly as painful or long as I expected. I have anchor scars and they’re minimal!" she shared. "My surgeon helped me get set up with a scar minimizing protocol and it worked," she continued. “Same bra, different 🍈🍈” she wrote over the video.

In her caption, Eva Amurri, the daughter of legendary actress Susan Sarandon, opened up to her Instagram followers about her breast reduction surgery back in April. At the time, she shared a photo of herself lifting her shirt to show the aftermath of the surgery:
“Apparently random bruising can show up during the healing process!” she explained. “It’s been strange to see my body bruised and recovering from trauma. It’s not an easy sight, and it’s definitely brought up a lot for me. I’m looking at these next few weeks as a great opportunity to be kind to myself and nurture myself.”
In another photo in the post, she revealed that she had struggled with falling asleep during recuperation, referring to it as “the worst part of recovery by far.” She also shared an image of her bedding as she explained:
“I bought a wedge for my bed, and a neck pillow, and neither of those have been comfortable. Now I’m on to a pregnancy pillow. I still didn’t sleep last night.” Eva Amurri continued at the time: “I hate sleeping on my back, so I know these next few weeks are gonna be rough for me with sleeping.”
Although she did share that she was working on caring for herself as her body healed from the surgery,
“Nourishing my body during this healing time has felt like the best form of self-care,” Eva Amurri wrote. “I’ve really been enjoying helping my body heal by giving it what it needs to feel best.”
Today reported ahead of her surgery that the actress revealed she would be going under the knife on April 2. At the time, she shared snapshots of herself sporting pink lingerie and holding a pink cake with the words “bye bye boobies” sprawled across it.
“I’m doing something I’ve wanted to do for 20 years,” Eva Amurri penned at the time, adding that it was the “fear of anesthesia” that kept her from doing it for so long.
As pointed out by People Magazine, Eva Amurri, also the daughter of Franco Amurri, recently announced her YouTube series, which focuses on an estate in Westport, Conn. It will follow a design team helmed by her and a construction team helmed by her friend, builder Chris O'Dell.
"Everything I've done in my entire career — or maybe I should say all of my careers — I've just jumped in head-first, thinking, 'I'm going to learn how to do this. I'm not going to rely on other people, I'm just going to learn as I go,' " she told the outlet.
New episodes of The Westport Project come out on YouTube every week.
