"I only have a day off from my show": Cynthia Nixon reveals how she’s balancing Thanksgiving with her broadway commitments

Cynthia Nixon is looking forward to having a hectic Thanksgiving this year. The actress is currently part of the Broadway performance of Marjorie Prime. She recently talked about the fact that she is preparing for the holiday while still managing her work schedule.

This was what Nixon disclosed during an interview with PEOPLE in The Gilded Age FYC event in New York City on November 18, 2025. She said:

“I only have a day off from my show, but I’m gonna try and do some stuff in advance, I think.”

In spite of having a tight schedule, she is willing to invite a big company to her home during Thanksgiving. She also revelaed the number of guests she is thinking of hosting and the way she wants to prepare for the same. Her remarks reveal how she is juggling both her professional and personal life in the midst of the holiday season.

Cynthia Nixon’s Thanksgiving plans at home

Cynthia Nixon said that her home will be full this year. She shared that she will host a large group for Thanksgiving:

“I’m having 22 [people over] for Thanksgiving at my house.” She repeated the number again and said, “Twenty-two people.”

The number shows the size of the gathering she is preparing for.

She explained that her schedule gives her very little free time. She said she has a single day to take a rest following her Broadway performance, and she intends to prepare in advance, to ensure that the day proceeds without hitches.

The complete guest list for gathering is not disclosed, but her family consisting of three children Seph, 29, Charles, 22, and Max, 14 and wife, Christine Marinoni are expected to turn up.

Balancing Broadway and family commitments

Cynthia Nixon is presently starring in Marjorie Prime on Broadway. The author of the play is Jordan Harrison and the play was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. She is sharing the stage with June Squibb. Nixon stars as Tess, the daughter of a character of Squibb, Marjorie. Her character has memory and loss to handle since she is communicating with a hologram of her deceased father in the play.

The fact that Nixon says that she has been on only one day off indicates that she has a tight schedule during the holiday week. Despite these odds, Cynthia Nixon still balances between her personal life and her work.
