"I don't get nervous" - Sydney Sweeney finds it 'powerful' to act while nude

Sydney Sweeney, who recently starred in Michael Pearce's thriller drama film Echo Valley, which hit the big screen on June 6, 2025, opened up in an interview with W Magazine about nudity on screen. Anyone but You star, Sweeney, while claiming she still faces stage fright, shares that performing nude on screen does not bother her.

The 27-year-old Sydney Sweeney, during her conversation with W Magazine, for its Summer Issue, said:

"I don't get nervous."

While adding:

That she's "gained so much confidence and self-awareness" while playing the character of Cassie in Euphoria.

Sydney Sweeney, who rose to fame in 2018 after starring in highly-rated and popular TV shows such as The Handmaid's Tale and Everything Sucks!, went ahead and added:

"I think that the female body is a very powerful thing. And I'm telling my character's story, so I owe it to them to tell it well and to do what needs to be done."

The Euphoria star, who recently collaborated with body care brand Dr. Squatch for a limited edition soap called Sydney's Bathwater Bliss, which reportedly contains the actress' very own bathwater, has an interesting take on nudity. The Immaculate actress, Sydney Sweeney, perceives that nudity on-screen enhances a character or helps add to the plot of the main story. Referring to her character, Cassie, in Euphoria, Sweeney said she viewed her on-screen nudity as a significant trait to her character.

After confirming her split from her former fiancé, Jonathan Davino, with whom she got engaged in 2022 and was together for almost seven years, Sydney is currently enjoying her single life. As per The Statesman, while she is relishing her singleness, she is also focusing on her relationships with friends and close ones.

Sydney Sweeney is vocal about nudity when it's unnecessary

While discussing nudity and her character, Cassie in Euphoria, Sweeney in a March 2022 interview with Teen Vogue, said:

"We all get naked in real life. We show this character's life and what they're going through. Cassie's body is a different form of communication for her."

However, the Americana actress is also quite forthright about unnecessary on-screen nudity. During the launch of Euphoria's second installment, in January 2022, The Independent reported that Sweeney told the outlet about how she reached out to the producers of the show and asked them to change some of the scenes that included nudity, which she thought did not contribute to the plot.

Sydney Sweeney's brand new film, Echo Valley, is set to be released on Apple TV+ on June 13, 2025.
