Charlie Puth is excited about becoming a father.

The We Don't Talk Anymore singer and wife Brooke announced the expansion of their family in the music video for his new song, Changes. During an appearance on The Tonight Show on Tuesday, October 21, the singer stopped by to perform his new song with a live band and a group of backup singers.

At one point, he also spoke with host Jimmy Fallon about expecting his first child soon:

“We’re expecting a baby in March,” he said. “I’m gonna be a dad… I was told not to reveal the gender.” He continued, “I hope baby likes music, because it’s the only thing I’m good at."

When asked if he has any music planned for his child, he said,

“Well, I feel like I’m gonna do what my mom did for me. My mom used to put the headphones, it was the 90s so the headphones were big, just put ‘em on her tummy. I think I listened to James Taylor, Luther Vandross and I feel like I got a wide array of music. So, I’ll do the same thing, whether Brooke likes it or not."

A look back at Charlie Puth's romance with Brooke Sansone ahead of his fourth album's release:

Charlie Puth, whose newest LP, Whatever’s Clever!, comes out on March 6, 2026, via Atlantic Records, revealed his wife's pregnancy in a clip in the music video for Changes. In it, he and his wife are standing side by side, and at one point, she cradles her stomach. Her husband follows suit, and they then walk off together, suggesting a new beginning.

Charlie Puth shared the video on his Instagram with the caption:

“There’s been some changes…”

In the chorus, he sings:

“There’s been some changes / In our life, oh. I can feel the distance / Space and time has / Made everything different / Day and night, oh.”

The pair confirmed their romance in December 2022, two months after Charlie Puth confirmed he was dating a childhood friend from New Jersey, per E! Online.

“As my life gets more turbulent and I travel everywhere,” he said on The Howard Stern Show that October, “it's nice to have someone close to you that you've known for a very long time.”

In September 2023, he confirmed their engagement with a post on Instagram and a caption that read:

“I flew to New York to ask my best friend to marry me, and she said yes. I am the happiest, best version of myself and it is all because of you Brookie. I love you endlessly forever and ever and ever.”

The pair subsequently tied the knot in Montecito, Calif., in September 2024.

As for Charlie Puth's forthcoming album, Rolling Stone has reported that it will be his fourth album and first since he dropped 2022’s Charlie. As of this writing, a full track list has yet to be confirmed, which means it's unclear if the album will feature his singles from the last few years, including “That’s Not How This Works,” “Lipstick,” and “Hero.”
