The Hannah Montana star, Miley Cyrus, recently got candid about the time she was consuming a lot of drugs. The 32-year-old singer/actress discussed her past drug use. However, Cyrus opened up on the Every Single Album podcast about how she kept the whole thing a secret and talked about how she used to hide her drug expenditure from her accountant.

On Nora Princiotti and Nathan Hubbard's podcast, the Wrecking Ball hitmaker also discussed her mental state during albums like Endless Summer Vacation and Bangerz. While Miley Cyrus dove deep into the period when she consumed a lot of drugs, she took the opportunity to express how grateful she is to have come so far. The former Disney star said:

"I'm so glad I survived that time in my life. I would definitely not encourage anyone else to go this hard, but the fact that I got through it, I'm very glad I got to do it."

As she talked about quitting drugs and turning her life around, Miley Cyrus, interestingly, revealed how she spent money on drugs without her accountant knowing about it. The Last Song actress said:

"The drugs were the biggest cost, which to hide those from my accountant, we called them vintage clothes. And so she would get these checks. That happens on touring all the time."

While she revealed that there were times when her accountant would ask questions about the "vintage clothes," Miley Cyrus made sure to keep all her purchases secret. She continued:

"And every time she saw me, she'd be like, ‘Where's that, like, $15,000 original John Lennon T-shirt that you bought?’ It's like, ‘Oh, it's upstairs.’"

The Party in the U.S.A. hitmaker added:

"We just really want to protect it. It's really delicate. The fabric got to take care of it. So I bought a lot of vintage clothes that year."

Miley Cyrus, who had a controversial divorce from Australian actor Liam Hemsworth in 2020, has been pretty straightforward about her sobriety. In 2017, while speaking with Billboard, she revealed that she had quit smoking marijuana and that she hadn't been drinking. The three-time Grammy-winning singer at the time said:

"I haven’t smoked weed in three weeks, which is the longest I’ve ever [gone without it]. I'm not doing drugs, I’m not drinking, I’m completely clean right now! That was just something that I wanted to do."

During another interview with Rolling Stone in 2021, Cyrus said:

"(I) haven’t done drugs in years. Honestly, I never try to, again, be a fortune-teller. I try to not be naive. Things f*cking happen. But from sitting here with you right now, I would say it would have to be a cold day in hell for me to relapse on drugs."
