Pete Davidson while speaking to E! News at the New York City premiere of his new film, The Home on July 22, opened up about how he feels about becoming a father.

While speaking to E! News, about fatherhood, Pete said,

"I'm very lucky and very, very happy."

Pete also mentioned that he's looking forward to

"being able to take care of something and show it the childhood I didn't have. I assume you just try to give them what you didn't have, and what you didn't like, not do it."

While talking about his SNL friends, he noted that his friends Adam Sandler, and Colin Jost have been very excited for him.

"Everybody's just been super excited for me, because they know it's been my dream. They all just have been like. "You're going to be great at this. It's the best thing you'll ever do in your life.' Sandler gave me some great advice."

He went on to add,

"It's been really nice that everyone's super excited. When you do something, when we do something, you want everyone to be excited, especially having a child."

More about Pete Davidson's childhood

Pete Davidson who recently spoke to E! News about giving his future child everything he "didn't have" as a child, had a rough childhood. Pete's father, Scott Davidson, was a firefighter who died in the 9/11 terror attacks at the World Trade Centre when Pete was just seven. Him and his sister were raised by a single mother.

While speaking to People in April, 2025, in an interview, Pete Davidson said,

"I had a really s**ty childhood and like the worst thing that ever could have happened to me, happened to me when I was seven."

In October, 2024, during an SNL performance, Pete spoke about the Israel Palestine conflict and said,

"Well, in a lot of ways, I am a good person to talk about it because when I was seven years old, my dad was killed in a terrorist attack. So I know something about what that's like."

In October, 2024, Davidson was pictured wearing a red FDNY T-shirt as a tribute to his late father. Below the letters was the organizaition's logo, followed by "Fire Dept of New York."
