Author Karrine Steffans, aka Elisabeth Oveson, is reflecting on her past relationship with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. On July 8, Steffans was a guest on the Piers Morgan Uncensored show. As Morgan began the show, he mentioned that Steffans was gifted to Combs in 2001 by someone in the music industry.

When he asked how she would categorize her relationship with Combs, she said that her early experiences were pleasant. Karrine Steffans mentioned that their first meeting ended with them spending time together, and he acted like a gentleman.

Piers Morgan asked whether she was intimate with Combs, to which she replied:

“No, Diddy and I did not know. Well, not to my knowledge.”

Morgan asked her to clarify what she meant by this statement. She said:

“Honestly, I'm questioning a lot of things right now. So, not to my knowledge. I don't think anything right now. Not to my knowledge.”

Morgan suggested that it was a strange response, and Steffans agreed. She shared that, as a middle-aged woman, she didn’t want to revisit her experiences from her twenties.

However, while preparing for Morgan's interview and rereading a part of her first book, Confessions of a Video Vixen, for the first time in two decades, she found herself questioning what she remembered from that time.

Karrine Steffans said Diddy was mad at her after her first book came out

Steffans recalled that most of their later encounters happened in group settings and were fine. However, after her first book came out, she noticed some changes.

Karrine Steffans remembered seeing him at a party, where he seemed angry and kept glaring at her throughout the night. When Morgan asked why Diddy was angry at her, she said:

“Well, four months before Confessions was published in 2005, we got a call from Sean's attorney. My attorney did. And Sean’s attorney wanted to see the book before the book came out. Confessions of a video vixen was an embargoed book, so no one could see it.”

She added:

“And so, my attorney told his attorney that he could not get the book and that they would have to wait until the book came out like everyone else and if they saw a problem in the book that they were free to reach back out to us, sue us, whatever they felt was necessary.”

Steffans said she raised certain questions in that book, which might have upset some people. Morgan inquired about the type of questions she raised. She said they were related to Diddy’s s*xual proclivities, the clubs he went to, and conversations between them.

Karrine Steffans said she wanted to be out of the publicity during Diddy’s trial

Karrine Steffans explained that what was revealed during the trial was completely new to her. She said she never saw that side of Diddy and didn’t understand it. In 2005, when she released Confessions of a Video Vixen, she didn’t understand why he seemed so scared of her, since their time together had been pleasant.

Steffans remembered wondering what he was afraid she might reveal, because at that time, she believed they had shared a friendly and harmless night. Karrine Steffans told Piers:

“So, I was confused then and 20 years later I am confused now. So, to my knowledge, I have never had s*x with Sean Combs. We never had that kind of relationship.”

However, she reiterated that in light of the present state of affairs, she couldn’t be sure of that. She said while Diddy's trial was underway, she tried to stay out of the limelight. Steffans said:

“I disappeared off of social. I just disappeared for the past year waiting for this thing to unfold, in the unfolding of what I believe to be facts. And definitely the testimonies of Cassie and Jane and even some of the men.”

When asked if the world has changed because of what happened with Diddy, Karrine Steffans said she didn’t think so. She explained that nothing had happened to him yet. In her view, the situation wasn’t just about him, as he was not the main problem.

She pointed out that this kind of behavior by powerful, wealthy men had existed for a long time and tends to grow worse as women gain more freedom and independence.
