“I'm not scared” - Kayla Malec on feeling ‘safe’ after ex Evan Johnson found guilty of domestic violence

Social media influencer Kayla Malec opened up about feeling ‘safe’ after her ex-boyfriend, Evan Johnson, was sentenced to one and a half years of imprisonment by a Tennessee court on charges of domestic violence. According to a report by People Magazine, Malec posted a video on TikTok where she spoke about her current emotional state, and said,

“I'm safe for the next year and a half. I like, I can't put it into words. I'm in Tennessee right now, I'm in Nashville, and I'm not scared.”

The same report notes that her fight for justice is not over. According to the TikTok video, Malec revealed her future course of action about seeking justice for the abuse she experienced from Evan Johnson. As per People Magazine, Malec said,

“Even though it's over in the state of Tennessee, it's not in California. So I still have a lot more f----ing s--- to do”

The news outlet also reported that, as per Malec’s allegations, her ex-boyfriend, Johnson, assaulted the nineteen-year-old social media influencer in the states of California, Hawaii, and New York.

When Kayla Malec opened up to her fans about being a victim of domestic abuse

On April 4, Kayla Malec opened up to her fans and well-wishers by putting up a sensitive social media post, which gave fans a glimpse into her emotionally and physically vulnerable state. She revealed that she had been suffering for the past few months as a result of an abusive relationship with her boyfriend, Evan Johnson.

Kayla Malec’s post read,

“For the past 9 months i was in an extremely abusive relationship. i will never be able to forget the scars left. i will never be the same girl i was before this. The same man who will look you in the eyes and say ‘i love you’ and then attempt to kill you is an experience i hope nobody ever has to live. To be scared of the person you sleep next to. Permanent scars physically and mentally.”

Kayla Malec also spoke about the contradictions that a social media personality has to deal with in her post. About the contradictions between her real life and the life she portrayed online, she further said,

“I was silently being abused while posting my life smiling. It’s true you can see it in the eyes. I watch my old videos and see someone I NEVER want to see again.”

As per NBC, on May 7, Evan Johnson pleaded guilty and was sentenced by the court. As per court documents, Johnson was prohibited from having any kind of contact with Malec. According to NBC, Kayla Malek posted a video outside the courthouse celebrating the order, which received 20 million likes.
