Actor Greg Grunberg, known for his roles in Heroes and Alias, shared details about his health issues. In a YouTube video posted on his Talk About It Company channel, he opened up about how he became bald.

He first thanked his fans who have been concerned about his well-being. Greg Grunberg then removed his cap to show what happened as he turned completely bald. He said:

“I all of a sudden got alopecia and I knew nothing about it. I’m still learning about it, but I just wanted to come on here and just let everybody know. It would be hypocritical for me not to talk about it, I mean this is what we do. This is what we encourage people to do. Don't be ashamed of anything that happens and everybody's got something.”

Greg Grunberg believed that the alopecia may have been triggered after having knee replacement surgery in October. He thought the condition was likely inactive in his body for a while, but it started showing after the surgery.

He also mentioned having Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune disorder. While learning more about these health issues, he discovered that many people deal with similar conditions. The actor claimed:

“I look good. I mean I'm lucky all right. I look good but I'm dealing with this. This is the new look. You're going to see it, you know, I don't really care but I just wanted to address this so that people can, you know, know what's going on.”

Here’s how Greg Grunberg took care of himself to manage the condition

Greg Grunberg said he considered wearing a shirt to explain that he was doing fine and has alopecia, even joking about calling himself “Al.” He is thankful that the condition is manageable and that he has good doctors.

The actor mentioned that his test results were normal, and he was eating well, staying active, and taking care of himself. Although he didn’t lose his hair and eyebrows, he could manage it. He initially shaved his head for an acting role, so the timing worked out. The actor said:

“I just wanted to let everybody know, just come out and talk about it just so you know people aren't guessing. So, thank you. I love you. I love you all. Thank you so much for all of your concern and your questions and, you know, it's alopecia and a lot of people have it.”

Besides Greg Grunberg, actors like Jada Pinkett Smith and Lili Reinhart were also diagnosed with the disease.

The actor’s son was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was young. In a video posted on the YouTube channel, Greg Grunberg shared that he and his wife were young parents when they first learned their son had seizures.

The doctor mentioned it might be a seizure, which caught them off guard because they had only seen dramatic seizures where someone collapses and shakes. They didn’t know much about the condition at the time.

The doctor referred them to a neurologist. Over time, they learned that while some children respond to the first medication, their son Jake didn’t. Jake was among the 25% who needed ongoing treatment.
