Speaking to People in an exclusive interview published on May 23, Joe Jonas reveals he's glad he waited to leak his solo album despite wanting to release it early. The 35-year-old artist released his 14-track solo album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, on May 23, 14 years since his last solo project, Fastlife.

The artist initially revealed the launch date to be in October 2024, but delayed it by seven months to put some finishing touches.

"I was eager to get it out for a while there. I think last year at some point, I called my manager, and I was like, 'Can I just leak the album or put it out?' I was like, 'I'm tired of waiting."

Joe Jonas was then "convinced not to" leak the album early and noted that he's glad he waited since he wouldn't have had his latest single, Heart By Heart on it "if I didn't hold onto it. So I'm glad I waited."

Jonas mentioned that he kept around 70% of the project from a March 2025 writing camp, but fine-tuned the rest.

"There were some features that I was able to reach out to. There's seven or eight features on the album, which is kind of wild. I'm just eager. It's very personal to me, and I'm excited that I finally get to share it...after holding onto it for a year."

"I just wanted to make it really complicated for people to remmeber" - says Joe Jonas about his new album

In another article for Entertainment Weekly, published on May 23, Joe Jonas, while talking about the inspiration and the motive behind his latest album, mentioned,

"I just wanted to make it really complicated for people to remember. It came from a definitive idea of what I was wanting to create and knowing what I didn't want to create."

While talking about the goal of the album, Jonas wants everybody to find a song in the album and feel that they can connect it with something they're going through.

Jonas' ex-wife Sophie Turner also took to her Instagram story on May 23, 2025, to cheer, saying, "Go go @joenas" next to a Spotify link to his album. This comes after the ex-couple finalized their divorce in September 2024 after tying the knot on May 1, 2019, at a Los Angeles wedding, followed by a second wedding in Provence, France.
