American actress and model Julia Fox opened up about her cosmetic procedures in a recent interview with Allure on August 19, 2025. The Uncut Gems actress previously underwent several cosmetic surgeries primarily because she wanted to appeal to men.
The 35-year-old actress, who made her acting debut with the Safdie Brothers' crime thriller film Uncut Gems, stated that she was so preoccupied with the thought that she had to look attractive to men so that she could survive. Fox told Allure:
"It's super important when you become famous or a public figure to be transparent. Now, when I see someone and I can tell they've never done anything ... I wish I could go back and be that person. I was so hung up on this idea that I needed to be attractive to men so that I could survive."
Julia Fox, who was married to Peter Artemiev from 2018 to 2020, shares a son, Valentino, whom they welcomed in 2021. The Presence actress revealed that she has had Botox, a rhinoplasty, liposuction, and veneers. However, Fox also shared that as of now, she has no plans to undergo any procedures. She said:
"I probably will [get more work done one day], but I'm just not as concerned with it right now."
Fox, who is currently busy promoting her upcoming sports horror thriller film Him, discussed with People Magazine in June on how several celebrities are talking about undergoing plastic surgeries. She said:
"I love it. I think we should be honest."
Julia Fox continued:
"Women set the bar for each other and I feel like if you're setting an unrealistic bar [if you're not honest]. That's really great for you, but what about all the girls that are so impressionable and feeling like 'Wait, why don't I look like that and what's wrong with me?"
She further added:
"It's like, girl, none of us look like this, you know what I mean? Like we all look really different without the surgery and without the fillers and without the makeup and all the things we do and the face tapes and the wigs and the tanning creams. The list goes on. On and on and on."
Julia Fox defends her polarizing fashion sense

During her interview with Allure, Julia Fox shared that she is worried about getting older, but also spoke of aging naturally. The PVT Chat actress said:
"That's what I think I'm the most scared of, feeling old, and there are times where I feel old ... tired, over it, disillusioned. When you're young and hot, it’s like that's your identity. Then you're like, s---, I need to stay young and hot."
She added:
"Am I going to chase the way I used to look, or am I going to evolve and see what's on the other side? It could be something totally different, and I'm choosing to go that way. I just want to see who's there waiting for me. It'll definitely be uncomfortable, but I think I'm ready for it."
During her conversation, Julia Fox defended her unique yet polarizing fashion sense, stating:
"To a New Yorker, [my style] is normal. But I could see how someone who's not used to that would be like, ‘What's wrong with her? What drugs is she on? What an attention-seeking whore. Oh my God, the makeup is ugly.’"
The Night Always Comes actress went ahead and said:
"To me, that says more about them than it does about me, because, like, damn, you've never gone to the theater? You've never gone to a show, a museum, a fashion show? You've never opened an art book?"
Julia took the opportunity to explain that all her outfits have a separate meaning, enabling her to portray a particular character. Not to mention, she also said that "art is supposed to be polarizing." Fox further added:
"The way people identify you is very much based on their perception of themselves, and people are going to look at you and take whatever they will."
Julia Fox's upcoming film Him, directed by Justin Tipping, will be released on September 19, 2025.
