Simon Guobadia, while speaking to Page Six in an interview published on June 25, revealed that he regrets his short-lived marriage with Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Porsha Williams.

The Nigerian-born executive producer said he believes he was "targeted for financial reasons" by Porsha and added,

"I kept asking, 'Why did you file for a divorce?' And she wouldn't say anything. I tried to reach out to her mom. Her mom wouldn't say anything either. I later figured out, this later felt like a coup."

He added,

"I was completely blindsided. No one from her family, her mother's side, her father's side reached out to me, and the only person that I actually reached out to was her mom, and you know she never..."

Guobadia then noted that he sent Porsha a scathing text message, reading, "This was a $5 million rehab project that I took on."

Porsha had earlier filed for divorce in February 2024, after 14 months of marriage. She had told People earlier that she had hired an immigration attorney in January 2024, after she uncovered "complex" issues with Guobadia's legal status and noted that the relationship was "headed down a dark road." After the two had a confrontation on 2024 Valentine's Day, she filed for divorce a week later.

"She never shared her concerns or issues with me": Simon Guobadia

Simon Guobadia, while speaking to Page Six about his divorce from ex-wife Porsha Williams, said he wasn't aware of Porsha's reasons for the divorce. While reflecting on her conversation with the media, including an interview with People, where Porsha revealed that she filed for divorce after uncovering "complex" issues with Simon Guobadia's legal status, the producer mentioned,

"She never shared her concerns or issues with me before filing for divorce. If you're married...you discuss issues and say, 'Hey, if this does not change or something does not happen, this is what might come of it."

Guobadia immigrated to the United States in 1982 and founded Simcol Petroleum Limited Company in 2007. Simon Guobadia was deported to Nigeria earlier this month due to immigration violations, including bank and credit card fraud. He was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in February 2025 and spent four months in a detention center before being deported to Nigeria.

The two tied the knot on November 25, 2022, just 30 days into their relationship. While speaking to Page Six, Simon expressed disbelief over the engagement timeline and admitted that he was out of his "god**mn mind to have done that" and that he's "paying dearly for it."
