Bella Ramsey, while speaking to Vanity Fair, as part of Pedro Pascal's cover shoot for the publication, revealed that they don't feel good about the internet referring to their The Last of Us co-star as "Daddy."

Ramsey said that they wanted to protect him from the media perception,

"I felt worried for him. I want to protect him from that whole joke of becoming the internet's daddy. I was like, 'I don't want everyone to refer to you as that and see you as that. You're so much more."

The term "Daddy" has emerged on the internet to describe a much older, muscular man. In an earlier interview for Vanity Fair, Pedro did a lie-detector test where he talked about how he feels about the "daddy" label, and how he wasn't always aligned with the public's perception of him. Pedro Pascal said,

"Daddy is a state of mind. I'm your daddy."

In the recent interview, Pedro echoed Ramsey's opinions and said that the "daddy" label has "gone too far.'

"I don't think anything could be further from the truth" - says Pedro Pascal about being called "Daddy"

When Chelsea Handler at the Critics Choice Awards joked that 2023 was "the year everyone became horny for Pedro Pascal", Pascal revealed that he felt like a fraud, after attending the show with his dislocated shoulder,

"I was in a sling, I was overweight, and when the cmaera cut to me, I didn't think anything could be further from the truth."

While talking about aging with Vanity Fair, Pedro Pascal said,

"Stepping into my 40s felt adult and empowered. Fifty felt more vulnerable - much more vulnerable. More so, more so. What a silly thing for a 50-year old man - to have all this attention! This is such shadow-voice sh**, you know what I mean?"

Elsewhere in the Vanity Fair article, it was revealed that Pedro was nine months old when his parents fled Chile to escape General Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship. The family eventually settled in San Antonio.

When he reached middle school, the Pascal family relocated to a wealthy and conservative Orange County, California, enclave. He then moved to New York City to study acting at NYU.
