Kyle Chrisley, famous for starring with his family on Chrisley Knows Best, made headlines for being arrested on numerous charges, including domestic assault, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, three charges for assaulting a first responder, and resisting arrest.

The Chrisley family has fought multiple legal battles since Todd Chrisley and his wife were imprisoned following their own convictions.

As per the report shared by TMZ, Todd Chrisley's son was arrested in Tennessee. Kyle Chrisley, now 34 years old, was arrested by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office on Saturday, Dec. 20, at around 7 p.m. He was later booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center that same night. Chrisley also faced three charges related to retaliation stemming from past actions, according to the outlet.

Kyle is Todd's son from his previous marriage to Teresa Terry. Todd shares Kyle and daughter Lindsie, 36, with his ex-wife. Todd married Julie Chrisley in 1996. As per a report shared by Us Weekly, in 2013, Todd won custody of his granddaughter, Chloe, amid Kyle's legal issues and struggle with addiction. Kyle had welcomed his daughter, Chloe, with ex Angela Johnson in November 2012.

From family estrangement to arrest: Kyle Chrisley’s complicated journey

Kyle Chrisley faced his own legal troubles on March 14, 2023, almost two months after Todd and Julie were reported to prison after being found guilty of fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy to defraud the United States.

As per a report shared by Today, Kyle Chrisley was arrested in Tennessee after an argument at his place of employment. Back then, the police said in their statement that Todd Chrisley's son “was involved in a physical altercation with a supervisor" and that Kyle pulled a "fixed blade" during the confrontation.

The outlet also added that Kyle Chrisley had voluntarily appeared for the booking procedures due to his active warrant. Kyle's bond was set at $3,000, and he was transported to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.

Kyle Chrisley's personal struggles over the years have cost him a rift with his family. However, he reconciled with his father later, which was made evident by an Instagram post uploaded in 2019.

“My mom [Julie] and dad raised me,” wrote Kyle.
“I haven’t been the best dad to [daughter] Chloe, I’ve had a problem with drugs, I’ve acted completely ridiculously, and through all that, they have stood by my side. Nine months ago, I went to my dad with an apology. His words were ‘I love you always, and you are forgiven’ and just like that, I was welcomed back into his life with open arms. I will be forever grateful for his love [and] graciousness,” he added.

Kyle Chrisley breaks silence on arrest, alleges threats and extortion attempts

As per a report shared by Us Weekly, Kyle Chrisley was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest on Monday, September 9, 2024. Kyle, however, refuted the charges and took to social media, where he shared pictures of himself on the ground surrounded by law enforcement.

Kyle Chrisley explained that he was being threatened for months and faced extortion attempts.

“So let me get this straight. A man who has been threatening me for MONTHS, trying to extort money out of me, saying he will destroy me if I don’t pay, has made threats to MY CHILD, my wife, told me he will destroy my truck, COMES TO MY HOUSE putting hands on ME, trying to extort money out of me, threatening me,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I’m not allowed to defend myself and my property? Then he RAMS my wife’s car on PURPOSE screaming ‘I’ll be back I got you.'”

Kyle shared that he “called the police for help” after he was allegedly terrorized by the individual.

“Instead of arresting him, they arrest me, as if he is a victim in this situation and I am the aggressor,” he added.

Kyle Chrisley later emphasised that he faced bias because of his family's run-in with the law.

“Maybe it’s because of my last name. I have heard Rutherford County likes to make a name for themselves and I think they saw this as an opportunity to do just that,” Kyle said.
“I also think it’s very easy for this man to fabricate a story knowing I’ve already had a similar alleged incident and especially when he knows he just came to my house, caused property damage and publicly displayed his intentions to run me over with his vehicle,” added Kyle.

Kyle then made headlines in August 2025 for suing Rutherford County and two sheriff deputies for nearly $2 million over his September 2024 aggravated assault arrest. As per a report shared by People Magazine, Kyle Chrisley and his wife, Ashleigh, claimed that he was unfairly arrested and “punished for calling for help.”

Kyle’s lawyer, Wesley Clark of Brazil Clark, PLLC, shared his statement with the outlet, sharing that,

“Our hopes for this lawsuit are accountability and change because no family should have to endure what the Chrisley family endured in this terrifying scenario.”
