Insidious 6 is the forthcoming horror film and the sixth installment in the franchise. Other films in the franchise include Chapter 2, Chapter 3, The Last Key, and The Red Door. The first one was directed by James Wan, and it was a critical and commercial success.

Insidious 6 cast gets new cast members
As per Deadline, Sam Spruell, Island Austin, and Maisie Richardson-Sellers have joined the cast of Insidious 6. Earlier, the makers had announced the names of Lin Shaye and Amelie Eve. Jacob Chase is the director, while the script is written by him and David Leslie Johnson.
The production of the film is currently taking place in Australia and the makers are eyeing for it to be released on August 21, 2026. Jason Blum and James Wan are producing it along with Leigh Whannell and Oren Peli. Johnson, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Ryan Turek, David Leslie, and Steven Schneider are the executive producers.
The first outing in the franchise, Insidious, was written by Leigh Whannell while James Wan directed it. The film focuses on a young boy who is in a comatose state, which is used by several entities as a vessel. Upon release, it received positive critical response and grossed $100 million at the box office.
Its sequel, Chapter 2, was released in 2011. Wan once again took on directorial responsibilities with Whannell returning as the writer. Despite mixed reviews, it was a commercial success. The most recent installment in the franchise is 2023's The Red Door. It minted $189.1 million at the box office, becoming the most financially profitable film in the franchise.
Jacob Chase, the director of Insidious 6, had previously directed the horror film Come Play. It was based on Chase' own short film called Larry and stars Gillian Jacobs and John Gallagher Jr. in lead roles. Made on a budget of $9 million, the film was released in 2020 and grossed around $13 million.
Insidious 6 will be released by Sony Pictures Releasing on August 21, 2026.
