Brock Lesnar returned to WWE during the closing moments of SummerSlam, marking his first on-screen appearance since August 2023. His comeback caught fans and commentators by surprise. Lesnar, widely known as "The Beast Incarnate," had not been active in the WWE since his loss to Cody Rhodes last year. His absence followed reports from early 2024, in which his name appeared in legal documents related to the Janel Grant lawsuit involving Vince McMahon and WWE.
Off the mat, Lesnar is married to Rena Lesnar, better known by her wrestling name, Sable. The former WWE Diva was described by the organization as “a pioneer who broke new ground for the ladies of the ring.” She and Brock Lesnar have been married for years, and her own legacy in WWE remains widely recognized.
How a screwdriver and a silent house led to Brock Lesnar’s airport proposal

Long before they became husband and wife, Brock Lesnar and Rena “Sable” Lesnar went through a stretch that tested their connection. In his autobiography, Death Clutch: My Story of Determination, Domination, and Survival, Lesnar recounted a time when Sable cut off contact with him for two weeks, returning to her home in Florida without taking his calls.
Intent on proving his commitment, Lesnar flew to Orlando. But when he arrived at her house, she wasn’t there. A neighbor happened to be outside.
“I saw a neighbor standing by his garage, and I knew he had seen me around with Rena enough to know we were a couple. That was a lucky break for me, because the guy never got suspicious,” Lesnar shared.
Lesnar told the neighbor he was doing work in the backyard and needed a screwdriver.
“I used the screwdriver he loaned me to get into one of her sliding doors, and of course the alarm goes off as soon as I get into the house. I knew the pass code, so I shut off the alarm, and now I’m inside,” he wrote.
The couple reconnected and spent a week together. When it came time to part ways, Lesnar surprised Sable with a proposal, at the waterfall inside Orlando’s airport. They married in 2006.
Marc Mero speaks out on divorce from Sable and her marriage to Brock Lesnar
Long before Brock Lesnar entered her life, Sable was married to Marc Mero. The two wrestling stars got married in 1994 and parted ways a decade later. When Sable stepped away from the ring and filed a lawsuit against the WWF, she and Mero moved to Studio City, California. While she focused on acting, Mero stayed home with Mariah, Sable’s daughter from her previous marriage to Wayne Richardson.
But things began to unravel after Sable returned to WWE. As per WrestlingNews.co, Mero later revealed in interviews, it was during this time he realized she had fallen for someone else, while they were still married.
“She fell in love with another wrestler … while we were still married,” he explained.
On The Steve Austin Show, Mero went into more detail. He spoke about stumbling across a message on her phone and feeling blindsided.
“My heart was broken. You can't sleep, you can't eat, you're sweating, and I remember thinking, ‘When I find out who this guy is, I'm going to kick the living tar out of this man!’ And then, I found out it was Brock Lesnar!” he shared.
What followed wasn’t a grudge, but acceptance.
“We ended up getting divorced, but God bless them! They got married. They have kids. They live a happy life and kudos, man!” he said.
That grace carried through to later years.
“I wish her and Brock and their kids all the best in the world. There’s no bitterness or resentment,” he added.
