Social media claims of Jamie Foxx testifying at Sean “Diddy” Combs' ongoing trial have fallen flat.

The Back in Action star is not taking the witness stand, as Matthew Russell Lee asserted recently via @innercitypress. A user (@DebZoppina) notified the lawyer-author about the "Foxx testifying" claims being credited to Inner City Press. Lee debunked the viral claims:

“There has been no Jamie Fox in the US v. Combs trial. People or a.i. accounts can put up spoof images. That's not hard to do but it's hard to get them taken down.”

Lee further hyperlinked his self-published ebook “Diddy on Trial Week 2: From Dawn to Kid Cudi” as he added,

“To verify what Inner City Press did tweet (and more), here's Trial Week 2”

In another X post, Matthew Russell Lee, who has been extensively reporting on the case, outrightly rejected the claims of the Spider-Man: No Way Home actor testifying during Week 2 of Diddy’s trial, which saw Kid Cudi, Cassie Ventura’s mother, and others as witnesses.

The “Jamie Foxx” rumor has garnered social media’s attention in the past few days, with a YouTube handle, Lil R3Vi, uploading a fictional AI-generated video about the actor's testimony. The reason behind many believing the fabricated claims might be related to a conspiracy theory that went viral a couple of years ago when the Baby Driver actor faced a medical emergency.

Rumors were abuzz that Diddy tried to kill Foxx, a claim which the latter humorously denied according to the New York Post. In October 2024, Diddy’s representatives also refuted the claims, branding them “outlandish, ridiculous, and baseless” in an email to AllHipHop.

Plenty of other conspiracy theories and rumors have been spreading misinformation on social media. For example, there have been claims of Will Smith testifying at the trial against Sean Combs, which are also false.

Jamie Foxx rejects the claims of Diddy trying to kill him

The Django Unchained star recently joined the likes of Seth Meyers, Chelsea Handler, Hasan Minhaj, and more on The Hollywood Reporter’s stand-up comedy roundtable. During the chat with other comics, Jamie Foxx recalled his medical emergency and addressed the conspiracy theory of Sean “Diddy” Combs trying to kill him. Jamie spoke about discovering the wild claim while he was still recovering:

“They Men in Black-ed me, and I’m f*cked up, and this isn’t funny, but I snuck in my phone because I didn’t know what the outside world was saying and I couldn’t get my mind around the fact that I had a stroke. I’m in f*cking perfect shape.”

He added:

“[I see things like,] ‘Puffy tried to kill me.’ No, Puffy didn’t try to kill me. When they said I was a clone, that made me flip. I’m sitting in the hospital bed, like, ‘These b*tch-a*s motherf*ckers are trying to clone me.’”

For those unaware, the stand-up comedy roundtable discussion is the first episode of Off Script With The Hollywood Reporter Season 2. It premiered on May 23 on IFC and is available to stream on AMC+. The THR’s show isn’t the only time Jamie Foxx talked about the conspiracy theory featuring him and Diddy. Last year, in his Netflix special, Foxx said:

“The internet was trying to kill me, though. The internet said Puffy tried to kill me. I know what you’re thinking, did he?”

Jamie Foxx referenced the controversial Diddy parties and the “baby oil” in his next joke:

“Hell, nah ni**a, I left those parties early. I was out by 9 ni**a, something don’t look right ni**a. It’s slippery in here.

Previously, Jamie Foxx also claimed that he mimicked Hollywood actors like Denzel Washington during his recovery, after a 20-day coma. The Miami Vice star said on The Graham Norton Show that "people thought I was mad."
