Actor and stand-up comedian Jeffrey Garcia is reportedly back in the hospital, two weeks after he was discharged after seeking treatment for pneumonia.

According to TMZ’s latest report (December 9), Garcia, 48, is currently admitted at a medical center in Southern California. However, this time, the cause remains unknown.

Jeffrey Garcia was married to Lisa Garcia for over a decade (2002 to 2013) and shares two children, Savannah and Joseph, with his ex-wife.

According to the Daily Mail, sources close to his family revealed that he was in a critical condition. Meanwhile, Garcia’s close friend and fellow comedian, Keith Raza, took to X and wrote:

“Please God, be with Jeff Garcia. I have lost so many people in my life. His son, JoJo, needs him and I need him. He’s one of my best friends.”

Jeffrey Garcia was born and raised in La Puente, California. He is best known as the voice behind Sheen Estevez on Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and its sequels, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius, and Planet Sheen, all of which aired on the Nickelodeon network.

Jeff’s other voice roles include Pip the Mouse in the Banyard franchise, Tyler Nelson in The Maw franchise, Tipa and Bat in Rio, and Rinaldo the Penguin in Happy Feet. Other credits include the animated series/ films such as Clone High, Rio 2, and Chalk Zone.

He has also acted in the comedy movie 3 Strikes and the sitcom Caroline in the City. Other projects include Mr Box Office, Dangerous Minds, Marmaduke, and Ozzy & Drix, among others.

However, Jeffrey Garcia began his career in showbiz as a stand-up comedian in 1991 and performed at comedy clubs across Southern California, such as Laugh Factory and The Ice House.

He tried his radio career as the frontman of the “Wild Wake-Up” crew for KMRK-FM 96.1.

Jeff appeared on Comedy Central multiple times, including competing in the series Reality Bites Back for a day, before quitting.

He won the 2004 Annie Award for outstanding voice acting for an animated television production for his Jimmy Neutron gig.

When he is not working, Jeffrey Garcia is actively involved with the nonprofit Gracie’s Fund.


Before being hospitalized with respiratory troubles on November 20, Garcia was seen performing at stand-up shows in California. Later this month, he was scheduled to perform at the Covina Theater in California.

Fans and followers are pouring in their prayers and best wishes for the actor-comedian’s speedy recovery. For instance, Facebook user Anthony Ray Salazar wrote under TMZ’s post, “Hope he gets well soon.” Likewise, Instagrammer @abraham.boche wrote, “We pray for a healing miracle.”
