Is Kelsea Ballerini married? All we know as singer opens up about motherhood in new song

Singer Kelsea Ballerini's new song I Sit in Parks is out. According to People magazine, the lyrics of the song mention kids and motherhood. The initial stanza of the song is:

“I sit in parks, it breaks my heart/'Cause I see just how far I am from the things that I want/Dad brought the picnic, Mom brought the sunscreen/Two kids are laughing and crying on red swings.”

She also sings:

“Did I miss it? By now, is it/A lucid dream? Is it my fault/For chasing things a body clock/Doesn't wait for? I did the damn tour/It's what I wanted, what I got/I spun around and then I stopped/And wonder if I missed the mark.”

For those who don't know, Ballerini recently cut relationship ties with actor Chase Stokes. Kelsea Ballerini is presently unmarried but she was previously married to Australian singer Morgan Evans. They started dating in 2016 and the same year, they got engaged.

The former couple tied the knot in December 2017. According to Elle, the songstress filed for legal separation in August 2022. Reports of Ballerini dating Chase Stokes came about in January 2023. During her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, she said that she approached Stokes first. Speaking about being with Stokes, Kelsea Ballerini told Stylecaster in 2023:

“He’s also a Virgo; we’re both Labrador Retrievers in human form. It doesn’t take much conversation to be on the same page. It’s been half a year, and it’s been great.”

On November 7, People Magazine published an exclusive report mentioning that Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes were seen gripping hands. A person who saw them said the following to the magazine:

“They were holding hands at the table and talking closely. After they got up, they walked together hand in hand towards Old Town. They looked very cute.”

An insider confirmed that the two had broken. In a statement last month, they shared:

“They’re two adults who gave it their all and tried to do everything they could to make it work, but ultimately couldn’t. It happens.”

Kelsea Ballerini had previously discussed her stance on motherhood when she appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast in 2023. One of the moments in her relationship with Evans was when he showed interest in becoming a father but she didn’t want to have kids. She said:

“That was something that we had talked about early on, and that was something that I was changing on. Cause he was ready. He was like, 'I don't want to be an old dad,' is what he kept saying. And I was like, 'I'm not there yet, and I can't do that to save this and give you something that I'm not ready for.”

When she was married to Evans, she said she thought about freezing her eggs. The singer even went to the clinic once to learn more about the medical process. Kelsea Ballerini said that the day she told her husband about freezing her eggs didn’t go well. She realized then that something had changed between them. What she wanted in life was different than his at that point in time.
