After Liz Cambage and Kevin Durant were seen together at a Drake performance in the US last month, the internet was full of speculations and rumors. Cambage, however, has since strongly denied the dating rumors, stating that their encounter was just a friendly one.

The former WNBA star and current overseas player started the rumors on Instagram when she posted a photo of herself with the Houston Rockets forward with the caption "Shooters only @easymoneysniper." The Slim Reaper was seen donning an oversized t-shirt and a cap, while Cambage was seen wearing a sleek dress.

Which was reshared by Durant, and the whole internet went crazy. Social media saw the photo and started speculating about a potential romance between the two players.

Liz Cambage clears the rumors

Liz Cambage responded to the rumors at Los Angeles International Airport by telling TMZ Sports that they were baseless. The interviewer had asked her:

"Are you and Kevin Durant a thing? Is it official or are you just enjoying each other's company?"

When she started laughing at the question, the interviewer asked, again:

"What is that? Why are you laughing? That's what people are asking."

To which Cambage replied:

"Because you think I'm going to hard launch a relationship, shooting a jump shot at a Drake concert? You think I'm going to be like this is my man, everyone and shoot a jump shot next to him?"

She added:

"No. So that's what I get for trying to be funny or recreating a meme. That's what I get."

The interviewer from TMZ asked Cambage:

"So the answer is no? Is there any chemistry? Any sparks?"

She replied that there was nothing between the two, referring to him as the GOAT:

"No. That's like the goat forever. But no."

Cambage made it obvious that she had no romantic connection to the two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant. She smiled as she said:

"It's just hoops, baby. And married to the game!"
