Max B commemorated his first day of freedom after years behind bars by asking for his girlfriend's hand in marriage.

The rapper, who was let go from prison following a 16-year stint just this week, proposed to his longtime girlfriend with a diamond ring and dinner. The Harlem rapper reportedly took his girlfriend out for a private dinner on Monday night, November 10. His friend, French Montana, was in attendance.

The pair reportedly got hitched earlier this year when Max B was still serving time, though he also opted to celebrate his partner this week. As seen in videos circulating online, his friends cheered him on as he got down on one knee and slipped the ring onto his partner's finger.

Here's everything Max B did in the hours following his release from prison:

Max B, also known as the "Silver Surfer," was originally sentenced to 75 years behind bars due to his alleged role in a botched 2006 New Jersey robbery. He pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter. However, his new legal team managed to reduce his sentence by 2 decades in 2016 when they proved a conflict of interest with his previous lawyers.

At the time, the rapper told Superior Court Judge James J. Guida:

"I just want to thank you for the fair treatment, you know, looking into the situation to at least give me another opportunity to someday reunite with my children and my family."

His friend, Wiz Khalifa, also took to X to celebrate the development:

"Max B is coming home. Sentence got shortened. Looks like the Gang will be working wit the Wave."

The same day he was let go from prison, the rapper's friend and longtime collaborator, French Montana, also took to Instagram to share a clip of their reunion. His caption read:

"CAN'T MAKE THIS UP! MY BROTHER REALLY COME HOME ON MY B DAY! HAMDULILLAH! WALKED IT DOWN! NO MORE FREE YOU!"

He also shared a video of the two back in the studio, teasing fans with the return of their “Coke Wave” series.

Max B also attended the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns game over the weekend at MetLife Stadium in New York City. Speaking with The People Gallery, he said of his release:

"Fresh out the can. They gave me seven and five, but I'm back. I'm feeling righteous. Feeling good. I'm grateful, I'm thankful. God is good."
