Attorney Tony Buzbee allegedly blackmailed Jay Z's lawyer to settle the s*xual assault lawsuit against him. In the lawsuit, Diddy and Jay Z have been named as defendants for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000.

Tony Buzbee is married to Frances Moody Buzbee, the owner of Frances Farms, an animal rescue shelter for over 40 animals. She also sits on the boards for several regional organizations, such as Houston Children's Charity, the Ronald McDonald House of Galveston, and Moody Neurorehabilitation Institute. The two got married on July 3, 2021, and they don't share any children.

Here's all we know about Tony Buzbee:

Tomy Buzbee is a Texas lawyer and a veteran of the Recon Marine and has held stints in some major Marine operations in different countries. He started his career with an ROTC scholarship that allowed him to attend Texas A&M University.

During his time there, he served as a Battalion Commander in the Corps of Cadets. When he graduated, he was named a Distinguished Naval Graduate and Distinguished Student and was also dubbed as the Outstanding NROTC Senior in the Corps of Cadets, as well as the Outstanding Commander in the Corps of Cadets. Today, the Buzbee Leadership Learning Center is named after him.

He has a vast portfolio of accolades from during his time at the Marine Corps, including becoming a Recon officer. After that, he decided to pursue law, and ultimately graduated summa cum laude, second in his class. He eventually went on to found his own firm.

Jay Z claims Tony Buzbee is a "deplorable human," vows to show his true self soon

Tony Buzbee is representing an unidentified "Jane Doe" in the case against Diddy and Jay Z, real name Shawn Carter, and though the case was initially filed in October against the Bad Boy Records founder alone, it was amended this Sunday to include Carter as well.

As reported by CNN, the two men forced themselves on the minor at the after-party of the MTV Video Music Awards event in 2000. The lawsuit claims that the girl felt inebriated after having one drink at the party and sauntered into a nearby bedroom. She claims Carter forced himself on her first, followed by Combs. She also claims to have hit Combs while fleeing the party.

However, in a statement issued by Roc Nation on December 9 on X, Jay Z rubbished all such claims as nothing but a fabrication. Read his statement below, in part:

"My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a "lawyer" named Tony Buzbee. What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle. No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!! These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case. This lawyer, who I have done a bit of research on, seems to have a pattern of these type of theatrics!"

His statement then goes on to target Tony Buzbee:

"I have no idea how you have come to be such a deplorable human Mr. Buzbee, but I promise you I have seen your kind many times over. I'm more than prepared to deal with your type. You claim to be a marine?! Marines are known for their valor, you have neither honor nor dignity. My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people. I mourn yet another loss of innocence."

He also asserted that not all celebrities are the same, and sent his "heart and support" to the "true victims in the world." He also accused Buzbee of exploiting his clients, and signed off on the post vowing to "showing you just how different I am."

Tony Buzbee has since taken to social media to refute Jay Z's claims of blackmail, noting that his client “never demanded a penny” from Jay-Z, and that “she only sought a confidential mediation."

He noted that "Since I sent the letter on her behalf, Mr. Carter has not only sued me, but he has tried to bully and harass me and this plaintiff. His conduct has had the opposite impact. She is emboldened. I’m very proud of her resolve." He also noted that the filing against Jay Z will "speak for itself and will litigate the facts in court, not in the media."
