Born on August 3, 1999, Wilson is a baptized member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as the LDS Church). However, he does not attend church much, as Distractify reported.

Let's take a look at the athlete's personal life and get to know him better.

Everything we know about Zach Wilson

A look at his childhood

Born Zachary Kapono Wilson, now Zach Wilson, he grew up with five siblings, three brothers and two sisters. Mike and Lisa are proud parents to Zach, Whitney, Micah, Josh, Isaac, and Sophie.

According to the Deseret News report, he was baptized during his childhood. Presently, he thinks of him as

"a Mormon, an LDS Church member, for sure"

Though he is a baptized member of the LDS, he does not feel "comfortable" being seen as a public representative of the Church like other Latter-day Saint athletes.

Distractify cited that Zach Wilson, in a chat with Deseret News, reflected on his faith, explaining,

"It is not something I am against. It is just that I didn't grow up active in the church. I'm not that 'poster boy' for the church … I was never really a churchgoer my whole life, just not involved much in it. My family and I hold the same morals and values that the church does, for sure, but I really didn't know a lot about the teaching and stuff until I got to BYU."

Considering himself "a really spiritual person," he further noted,

"I feel like I have always had a good relationship with God in my life. … At BYU, I have gotten into it a little bit more. As everyone at BYU knows, the religion classes are (required) and tough. They've helped me strengthen my relationship with God, though."

A look at his football career

Wilson attended Corner Canyon High School in Utah for his high school years. According to Sportskeeda, he started his career by playing high school football. While he initially decided to play for Boise State University as a quarterback, he later joined Brigham Young University for his college years.

Doubting ADHD symptoms, Zach got himself tested and was diagnosed with ADHD during his college days, according to the Deseret News.

Zach Wilson was drafted second overall by the 2021 New York Jets for 2021 to 2023, according to Pro Football Archives. Last year in April, he was traded to the Denver Broncos as the third-string quarterback. However, he did not play any regular-season games.

This year, in March, Wilson signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins. As per The Sun, he made the transition by earning $6 million. Interestingly, his deal can rise to $10 million, including incentives.

About his parents

On March 8, 1997, Mike Wilson married Lisa Wilson. They welcomed six kids and brought them up in Utah, according to People.

Dad Wilson, a defensive lineman for the University of Utah, taught the sport to his sons. Opening up about mentoring Zach and other children while talking with Deseret News, he recalled expressing his disinterest at first.

He shared,

"I am like, 'I am not coaching.' I’ll do anything they want so I can be involved, but I’m not going to be the coach. I had no idea how much I would enjoy it, or enjoy working with my boys or coaching other kids."

As People reported, Lisa is passionate about cooking. She often shares her cooking videos on Instagram. Also, she is a businesswoman and sells crewnecks via her online store.

In 2018, the NFL star shared a photo posing with his family.

He shared the glimpse with the caption,

"Night before the last game of my freshman year. Wouldn’t want to spend with anybody but my family."
