The internet is in a frenzy since Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi announced that they welcomed a baby girl.
The pair, who tied the knot in May just last year, took to Instagram just hours ago to announce that they have expanded their family by one, as they welcomed a baby girl this summer via adoption. They have yet to announce the child's name and her age, though, seeing as the Stranger Things actress is 21 and her husband is 23, the internet is amused, to say the least.
See how one user reacted on X, for instance:
"Isn’t she like 19??"
The comments of bewilderment didn't end there:
"Millie Bobby Brown is married and adopting a child... Isn't she 11," one user quipped.
"Millie wanna live that adult life so bad, take a break," a naysayer chimed in.
"the concept of millie bobby brown being a mother. wow times flies," someone else pointed out.
"and stranger things season 5 still ain’t out yet," another jokingly remarked online.
See how the rest of X is reacting:
"Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi are setting a good example for rich young couples. I love this! Adoption is so important," one user opined.
"She became an actual mother before Stranger Things could even drop its fifth season you can't make this up," someone else echoed.
"Marrying at 20 and then adopting at 21 is kinda crazy," another chimed in.
"I like Millie, but she is speedrunning life for WHAT like- …. Idk I swear she just bored asl," yet another remarked.
Users were visibly divided, with one after the other weighing in with suggestions for the young parents.
Millie Bobby Brown opens up about welcoming kids at an early age, says she always knew it was for her: Read more
In her post on Instagram, Millie Bobby Brown said in a joint statement with her husband, the son of the iconic singer Jon Bongiovi:
"This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy." It continues, "Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi."
As reported by Free Press Journal, just earlier this year, speculations that the actress was pregnant were rampant when she was spotted buying diapers. However, it was later revealed during a guest appearance on the Smartless podcast that she was buying them for her baby goats.
Millie Bobby Brown has been living with her husband on a farm, where they also house several other animals, including goats. At the time, she said,
"We were bringing in these goats that sleep in our bed, and they were in diapers. People started thinking I was pregnant because I was buying bottles and nappies and all the things." She added, "They were basically babies. And so I would sleep with them and Jake. They would be in the middle, and they are so cute. Then they reach around, like, eight weeks old, and they're full-grown and have horns, and they're wanting to go outside."
Elsewhere in the segment, Millie Bobby Brown also opened up about the idea of welcoming kids with her husband at this stage in her life:
“My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19," she said, adding that she knew she wanted to be a young mom “since before I met Jake....like, since I was a baby. I told my mom...I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me.”
She added,
“Jake knows how important it is to me, and of course I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family—for me personally, it’s a huge thing. Jake was like, ‘We cannot do that until we get married.’ So that was his thing. And my thing was I really want a family. I really want a big family. Like, I’m one of four; he’s one of four. So it is definitely in our future. But for me, I don’t see having your own child as really any different [from] adopting.”
As for how she welcomes a kid, she clarified that she is open to all possibilities:
“My home is full of love for anyone and anything. So that is what we stand by....Our energy in the house is like, the door is always open, and we want everyone to feel really comfortable.”
