TV reporter Hank Winchester, co-host of The Morning After podcast, has joined Kelly Stafford on the show after some time. He was recently cleared of the s*xual assault allegations raised against him. According to Us Weekly, an investigation was underway, following which prosecutor David Williams said there was no reason to press charges against him.
On the August 18 episode of the podcast, Stafford said Hank was back on the show and could seemingly not hold excitement. He said it was an overwhelming time in his life, and he had a lot to say about it.
He felt that although the police are responsible for making certain allegations, they should take time to know the person bringing forward the claims. Speaking about the process, he said:
“Investigators had every opportunity to look at everything they needed to, which they did, and determine that in this case, that allegation was unfounded, that it was baseless, that it was defamatory. And that was the opportunity for my attorneys now to come out.”
Hank Winchester went on:
“And and I'm very thankful to be on the other side of this. 100% clear, no charges. The evidence spoke for itself, but I will tell you it was a emotionally exhausting process. As my attorneys revealed, so I can to you, I took two polygraph tests. I passed them with flying colors.”
He said he decided to take the test voluntarily to help the investigators in the process. However, Hank Winchester said the test showed no signs of deception.
Hank Winchester said all he had to do was keep faith in his legal team
Hank thanked the podcast audience for their support during his difficult time. He received multiple texts from everyone. He said he hoped that after people saw the truth, they would understand how important it was to let the process finish on its own.
Meanwhile, Kelly Stafford added that she was impressed by how Hank handled the situation. She said that while her reaction on social media would have been angry, Hank chose to thank people for their support instead, which showed a lot about his character. Hank Winchester also said:
“I will say this and I know this is going to sound surprising to you, but I always do have the utmost respect for police and the job that they do and in this case for the prosecutor's office and the work that they had to do.”
Hank Winchester added:
“And what I just knew I had to do was to rely on my legal team and also do everything I could to make this happen as quickly as possible.”
Hank said that in the country, many things took time to be properly investigated. Something that started on a Monday couldn’t be finished by Friday, and that caused a lot of stress and worry.
He explained that even though he respected the people doing the work, those nine weeks were the hardest time of his life. Hank Winchester shared that he had already lost both his parents, battled cancer, and gone through a divorce, but none of that felt as difficult as this because it affected every part of his life.
