At the Fountain of Youth red carpet premiere at the American Museum of Natural History in Los Angeles on May 19, Natalie Portman opened up about what she liked about playing John Krasinski's sibling in the film.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, Fountain of Youth revolves around an estranged brother-and-sister duo, who decide to find the mythical fountain of youth, after taking inspiration from their late father who was a famous archeologist. The movie is all set to release on Apple TV+ on May 23.

At the premiere, Portman mentioned that she enjoyed playing Krasinski's sibling:

"It was so incredible to get to work with John. He's so funny. He's so kind, such a good actor and to play brother and sister was really fun because both of us, I think had an imagination of what it might be like."

Natalie Portman is an only child to Avner Hershlag and Shelley Stevens, while Krasinski has two older brothers, Paul Krasinski and Dr. Kevin Krasinski.

"I'm an only child and he has only brothers, so we both kind of had that lifetime imagination of what it would be like to bring to our characters and it was great to travel to all these incredible places with the entire cast," the actress said.

Natalie Portman also mentioned that being on the set with John felt like being with family.

"I love the initial juxtaposition between Luke and Charlotte" - says John Krasinski on his role alongside Natalie Portman

While Natalie Portman described the experience of playing John Krasinski's sister at the Fountain of Youth premiere on May 19, Krasinski also had interesting insights about the film:

"I love the initial juxtaposition between Luke and Charlotte. This idea of the adventurous spirit and the person who is always playing it safe."

The two siblings, despite their differences, are forced to team up for a worldwide heist, as they look for the fabled Fountain of Youth. While commenting on the movie's plot, director Guy Ritchie mentioned that viewer's could expect a lot of "squabbling":

"With brothers and sisters, there will always be squabbling. And, as far as I'm concerned, squabbling is the best version of arguing. Brothers and sisters can say things to each other that no one else can."

The movie is written by James Vanderbilt, and also stars Eiza Gonzalez, Domhnall Gleeson, Arian Moayed, Laz Alonso, Carmen Ejogo and Stanley Tucci. The movie was initially announced in March 2023, with Dexter Fletcher slated to direct the film. However, in January 2024, Dexter exited the project and Ritchie took on the directorial role.
