Jamie Lee Curtis, the American actress famous for her roles in the horror and slasher genres, recently fell prey to fake AI-generated advertisements. The Academy Award-winning actress took her grievances directly to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Jamie Lee wanted the company to remove the artificially generated commercial that featured her without her permission or endorsement. Recently, the scream queen shared a brief but loaded message on Monday in which she addressed the tech billionaire directly.
“It’s come to this @zuck,” she wrote in her Instagram caption, tagging Mark Zuckerberg.
Jamie Lee Curtis Addresses Mark Zuckerberg in Instagram Post:

In a direct Instagram message to the Meta CEO, Curtis wrote:
"Hi. We have never met. My name is Jamie Lee Curtis and I have gone through every proper channel to ask you and your team to take down this totally AI fake commercial for some bulls**t that I didn't authorize, agree to or endorse. I tried to DM you and slide on in, but you don't follow me so I've had to take to the public instaverse to try to reach you."
"If I have a brand, besides being an actor and author and advocate, it is that I am known for telling the truth and saying it like it is and for having integrity and this (MIS)use of my images (taken from an interview I did with @stephruhle during the fires) with new, fake words put in my mouth, diminishes my opportunities to actually speak my truth." Jamie Lee Curtis added
Jamie Lee Curtis, no longer active on Twitter, the social media site, which is now rebranded as X, turned to a direct appeal to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, asking him to have his team monitor and remove troubling content. Her message was brief but deliberate, indicating that she had been advised that a personal outreach might prompt action.
In a report shared by the Wrap on May 12, 2025, the Terror Train actress warned her fans about the potential misuse of artificial intelligence technology.
“THIS IS FAKE. AI. I haven’t posted about it because I don’t want to bring attention to it and yet even my lawyers and social media teams can’t get it taken down, HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? Just think about the threat of this, forgetting my ‘career’ but politicians or public servants saying things that they aren’t saying. It’s like the wild wild West.” Jamie shared on Instagram.
“Very distressing and disappointing that with all the TECH and all the billions and trillions that are being made that there are no safeguards.” she added.
Previously, several well-known actors have expressed concern about artificial intelligence's growing role in the entertainment industry. Among them, Scarlett Johansson, famous for her role as Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), raised alarms in 2023 when OpenAI introduced a voice for its ChatGPT assistant that bore a strong resemblance to her own.
Johansson publicly criticized the company, although OpenAI maintained that the 'Sky' voice was created using a different voice actor. Other stars, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ben Stiller, and Aubrey Plaza, have also shared their thoughts on how AI could reshape Hollywood.
