Jon Bon Jovi’s family grew in a way that left him both surprised and delighted. The musician reflected on life as a grandfather after Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi welcomed a daughter through adoption.
“It’s crazy, but great. Wonderful,”
Jon Bon Jovi said in a clip from his sit-down with influencer Bunnie XO, released Sunday, September 21, on TikTok.
“They adopted a girl, we met the baby obviously and immediately that becomes your grandchild, you know what I mean? Your baby. It’s beautiful. I want to see pictures, like, every other day. I’m that pain in the butt guy already and, yeah, it’s cool,” he shared.
Jon Bon Jovi explained that while his son and daughter-in-law tied the knot at a young age, the family supported the decision.
“They got married very young but we blessed it because we get it — you know, they’re sorta mature beyond their years, she comes from a family where her parents are still together and they married very young. Her and Jake fell in love and we just thought OK, we’ll support this and it’s working out,” he explained.
From rock anthems to lullabies: Jon Bon Jovi embraces life as a first-time grandfather

Jon Bon Jovi spent decades being idolized as a rock legend, but in recent weeks, the father of four found himself celebrating a very different milestone , becoming a grandfather.
As reported by Today, Bon Jovi’s son Jake Bongiovi and daughter-in-law Millie Bobby Brown announced on Aug. 21 that they had adopted a baby girl. Sharing the news on Instagram, the couple wrote,
“This summer we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.”
The message was paired with a sketch of a willow tree and signed off,
“And then there were 3. Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi.”
Millie Bobby Brown had hinted at her desire to raise a family earlier this year. In a March 10 interview on the SmartLess podcast, the actress explained,
“It doesn’t matter in what way or when, but it will happen for sure. I really want a big family. I’m one of four, he’s one of four, so it is definitely in our future. I don’t see having your own child as really any different as adopting.”
Bon Jovi and his wife Dorothea Hurley, his high school sweetheart, raised their own four children, Stephanie, Jesse, Jake, and Romeo , in New Jersey, where they built a family life away from the spotlight.
Jon Bon Jovi announces collaborative album ‘Forever (Legendary Edition)’ following rehab:

Jon Bon Jovi knew how to handle stadium crowds, but facing vocal cord surgery in 2022 forced him into unfamiliar territory. The frontman said the experience changed the way he approached Forever (Legendary Edition), the new record he had to build while learning how to sing again. "This album is more than just a collection of collaborations, it is an album borne out of necessity," he told E! News.
"My vocal cord surgery and subsequent rehab was a well-documented journey that played out while releasing Forever in June 2024," he added.
The surgery meant touring was no longer an option. Instead, he doubled down in the studio. The new edition of Forever, out Oct. 24, mixes fresh material with reworked versions of songs from the original 2024 album. Two singles will be released ahead of it on Aug. 29.
"I was singing well enough in the studio for the recording, but the vocal demands and rigors of touring were still out of reach for me, without the ability to tour or promote an album we were all very proud of, I decided to call on some friends to help me in my time of need." he shared.
Those friends included Avril Lavigne, Jelly Roll, Ryan Tedder, Bruce Springsteen, and Lainey Wilson.
"All are great singers, artists, and also just great people, the result is an album with a new viewpoint and new spirit—a collaboration album that proves we all get by in this world with a little help from our friends." Bon Jovi explained.
The singer added that he felt “tremendous joy and gratitude” to release the project, summing up the journey this way:
"I can say with certainty that there is always something bigger than ME, and that’s WE.”
Jon Bon Jovi had admitted before that recovery took longer than expected. In 2024, he told NPR he was still learning patience.
"I can always write another record. I'm not worried about my ability to write another song, I could have walked away. I just haven't had to come to that conclusion because, as I said, the process and the progress are steady," he shared.
