The Brady Bunch was a sitcom whose impact on television and American pop culture can still be felt to this day. Debuting in 1969 and spanning five seasons, the show chronicled the life of a widower with three sons who marries a woman with three daughters and the lovable form of chaos that ensues. It normalized the blended family in a wholesome way and was must-see TV at the time of its release.
Recently, Barry Williams, Mike Lookinland, Susan Olsen, and Christopher Knight, all members of the original cast, reunited for an event. The reunion took place at The Chocolate Expo on Long Island on May 4, where the actors participated in a panel discussion about their iconic show.
When speaking on getting part of the band back together, Barry Williams shared his unique insight on the cast’s dynamic on and off screen. The 70-year-old actor shared,
"We know the ups and downs. We’ve been through weddings, we’ve been through separation, we’ve been through kids, we’ve been through college now. It’s been really nice, as evidenced by being here."

The Brady Bunch cast reunited
This is not the first time members of the cast have gotten together for their fans. The cast members made their first Chocolate Expo panel appearance in March, with the exception of Christopher Knight. Upon reflecting on the cast’s real-life bond, Williams shared,
“We're all still friendly and get together. I think it's fun for us to all get together, which we do. Some of them I like better than my own family … The chemistry — which you can’t fake — is genuine.”
On top of their public appearances as a collective, certain cast members have branched out in various ways to provide their audience with stories from their time on set; a true peek behind the curtain.
For instance, Williams and Knight co-host a successful podcast called The Real Brady Bros, where they divulge lesser-known tidbits from their time on set. In an episode of the podcast, Susan Olsen revealed that she almost didn’t make it past the show’s pilot.
"I was standing on a makeup chair and something from the catwalk, where they keep all the lights and everything, fell. It hit the makeup man first, [bounced] off the body makeup woman, and hit me in the face."
Although Olsen was able to make a speedy recovery keen eyed viewers can discern that her “face is quite swollen" in the final version of the inaugural episode.
For fans looking to immerse themselves further in the rich tapestry of the show’s history, The Brady Experience offers people a truly unforgettable experience. Fans can take a tour of the house that was used for exterior shots while filming, and whose interior was also re-done to resemble the unforgettable Brady home.
